I Accidentally Stole a Celebrity's Dog—And Ended Up on a Reality Show
One wrong turn in Runyon Canyon, one adorable dog, and suddenly I’m on a reality show with Hollywood’s hottest star

You ever do something so ridiculous you wonder if the universe just handed you a script from a comedy film?
It started on a warm Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles, the kind of day when even your iced coffee seems to sweat. I’d just gotten fired (well, “let go” — corporate-speak for don’t come back), and I figured I deserved a walk through Runyon Canyon to clear my head. New city, fresh unemployment, and too much time to think.
That's when I saw it—a fluffy golden Pomeranian, off leash, trotting down the hill like it owned Hollywood. No collar. No human. Just pure fluff with attitude.
Naturally, I assumed it was lost.
So, being the "Good Samaritan" my therapist keeps telling me I can be, I scooped the little lion up, looked around for an owner, and after ten minutes of shouting "Does anyone know this dog?", I carried it back to my car, determined to find its rightful celebrity owner (hey, it was Beverly Hills-adjacent).

Turns out, I didn’t have to find them. They found me.
Fast forward four hours later, I’m at my tiny studio apartment trying to feed the dog a slice of turkey when there's a knock on my door. It wasn’t just a knock—it was a camera crew. And behind them?
Jason Ryder.
You know—Jason freaking Ryder. Hollywood’s most charming bad boy. Star of Spylight, The Lava Protocol, and that bizarre yogurt commercial that weirdly made him more famous.
Apparently, I hadn’t “found” his dog—I had napped it. The Pomeranian was his, and the second I walked off with it, his housekeeper hit the panic button. Somehow, TMZ got involved. Then his reality show producers decided it was “a hilarious twist” and tracked me down for a surprise segment.
I thought I was going to jail. Instead, I ended up on episode 5 of “Ryder in Real Life”.
They filmed our awkward “reunion,” made me take part in a staged dog yoga class, and later aired a scene where Jason thanked me “for proving that good people still exist.”
My phone exploded the day it aired. My mom cried. My ex texted me for the first time in a year. And—best part?
Jason let me babysit the dog on weekends.
So yeah. I accidentally stole a celebrity’s dog and ended up with a side hustle and a 7-second cameo on national TV.
Life is weird. Especially in LA.
