How did it get here?
The mystery...
Attention! Attention! Attention! All the passengers and crew, please go to the nearest exit! Repeat! All the passengers and crew, please go to the nearest exit!
What on eighty two moons is going on here? – thought Jack, still sleepy and angry at whoever raised the alarm at five in the morning. He opened his eyes slowly and stand up. Took the keys from the table and went outside on the Main Zone A as advised. Jack discovered quickly that he was all by himself. At first he thought that someone made a joke and now they are having fun seeing him here. Although after few minutes he spotted another soul resurface from Zone B. It was Ana. She looked unnaturally calm and peaceful. Her face was slim and sharp. She was focused on something.
She is probably as sleepy as I am. – assumed Jack and without much of a thought he slowly creeped behind her and whispered - Wake up Ana. It’s time. – At that moment she put her arms up immediately, ready to punch whoever was behind. Luckly for Jack, in the last second she stopped.
What were you thinking while doing such thing?! – She yelled at him slightly huffed. She was simply not able to be mad at him longer than few minutes. – Do you know what is that all about? – she asked softly like she was never angry. It was very unusual as it was the first time the alarm actually happen. The headquarter was the safest place to live in this uncertain time. No longer after, rest of creatures came out on Main Zone A.
Lucy showed up as the last one. She stood up in front of everyone and looked around on each creature. She grasped a huge breath of air and started to explain how and why the alarm has started. Jack was the only one who was not actually listening to her. All he could think about was her perfectly shaped body and the way she moved around while giving a speech. The grace and lightness in her was as hypnotic as the sunset on the highest mountain. The way she expresses herself and articulate every word. For Jack, she was the most perfect creature in the whole universe.
Unexpectedly, he spotted the huge bird flying from the roof of a headquarter. It was massive and extremely quick. It was an owl. The biggest owl he ever saw in his life. That would not be so mysterious if not the fact that the birds were not usually flying two kilometres under the ground. Almost like it mutated over time to be even more dangerous predator.
So as you see, there is no more danger. You can go back safely to beds. – she reassured once again with typical to her charm and professionalism. As Lucy was waiting for everyone to go back inside, Jack approached her.
Do you mind me visiting after? – he asked confident but also full of hope that it did not come out wrong. He was not an expert in talking to women.
Just make sure the procedures are in place – she said trying to look serious but she was not able to hide her smile. Jack was not the only one who enjoyed their alone time. Somehow Jack could not see it. He was too engaged in trying to impress her to notice that she was already bewitched by him.
Did you notice the owl? – he asked curious. She looked at him stunned.
Birds do not live under ground. How could you possibly saw it? Are you sure that it was owl? – she raised her suspicion correctly noticing the reality of the world they live in.
I am sure. The question remains, how does it get here? – leaving Lucy with that thought, he went inside to get ready for the night.
