How could I have been so blind?

Late night thought :)

Why am I so unseeing of the truth?

I always ask myself when looking past the dreadful crowds. One to a million they always say; Like I was ever meant to be part of a million people. Sure being invited to a show was something I couldn't avoid; Especially when my only "friend" was someone I admired; and moving past the crowds of horrid drunkies wasn't my favorite thing to do. Who am I kidding? I hated this with a passion. It made my heart rage with a burning fire as each step lit aflame as I slipped past each person like a silent snake.

I remember looking her straight in the eyes yesterday afternoon as she begged me with every hair on her body to come with her to this concert. I couldn't resist; her eyes told me everything. "This would be a date!" She exclaimed. "I have an extra ticket with your name on it!!!" Her smile spoke of happiness. Almost as if she'd give me anything in the world if I joined her with the extra ticket she had. So I did. Now I'm walking with fire.

Laser's illuminated past the many phones that reflected the view right in front of so many eyes. While some laser's tried to cut through rustling bodies. The crowd falling more silent as the show began. I ignored it still on my hunt for her. Music rattled the floor as many raised their drinks and cheered.

"Are you ready?!" The lead singer shouted into the microphone she heald. I groaned trying to look past this mob. Surely she'd be around. I marched to the side spotting some idiots climbing to get a better view. Not thinking I joined them, grasping the metal as I lifted myself to the roof. I kept my grip as my eyes trailed among the crowd trying to spot her blonde hair. Nothing. Where was she?

My eyes wandered as there was no sight of her anywhere. My insides fumed as the singer only raised her voice. I looked up wanting to climb up there myself but froze. She was there. On the stage. In a bright pink revealing leather suit. White braids tied with a pink bow on each one as they connected together down her back. Boots trailing up her legs I was surprised she could even walk. But how could she be up there? I didn't even see her through the crowd. My only missing piece was to... Look up?

I never could have guessed that in a million years as the first thing to do when looking for someone else. Was to look up at the singer. Maybe a normal person would but I was prepared to hunt her until I locked eyes with her soul through this mob. I couldn't believe she wasn't with these others; I was glad but pissed.

I cursed under my breath as she took the stage with a passion. Walking with steps that looked like her heel was being pierced with nails; the metal digging deeper and deeper as she reached the end of the stage. The drop being longer than any cliff I had seen in the city. Meaning none. Hands and voices rose as she leant forward with her microphone. Almost every guy trying to get their disgusting hands on her. I grip the bar tighter keeping my weight up, wanting to pull her off that stage the second I got down. But as I turned to climb down; her backup singer arrived on stage, pulling her close as their voices harmonized.

She never wanted me here for a 'date.' She wanted me to not waste that extra ticket. Wow... How could I have been so blind?
