The following tale of temporal travel takes place in a universe inspired by the 2010 smash megahit film Hot Tub Time Machine. It is an original story, and does not feature any of the same characters as the film. This is... Life of the Party - Chapter 6.

INT. WALLACE RESIDENCE - LATER

Alex walks down the hall. Finally he spots someone he knows, and calls out to them, "Dan!"

DAN YOUNG turns around. He is small, and wears circular glasses.

Dan notices Alex and says, "Hi Alex, what's up?"

Alex replies, "Nothing. I just never would have expected to see you here."

Dan looks puzzled, "What are you talking about?"

Alex backs off a little, "No, it's just that you're always so serious at school with Science Club, and all that. I didn't expect to see you at a party."

Dan pulls a blunt out of his shirt pocket, and shows it off, "Let me give you a small idea of what it's like in Science Club."

Dan lights it up.

"Seven kids," he continues, "Growing the most potent marijuana you have ever smoked in your life."

Alex looks a bit shocked.

"With special mention in the yearbook," Dan laughs. "Now if you'll excuse me."

Dan motions towards the jacuzzi room, where Prudence, Virtue, and Chastity slowly enter the waters of the hot tub.

Dan slaps his palm lightly on Alex's chest, then says, "Members only."

Dan pats Alex on the shoulder and walks toward the hot tub.

Alex turns around and sees Boy and Girl again. He asks them, "Do you know where the bathroom is?"

Girl points toward a door with 20 people lined-up outside.

Alex sighs, "Great, thanks."

Alex walks in the opposite direction.

Downstairs in the kitchen, Shane is helping one of his buddies do a keg stand. There is a crowd and commotion. They are all laughing and having a riot.

Alex walks out on to the balcony, and sees Kristie alone. She is staring out into the world.

Alex says, "Hey."

Kristie replies, "Hey Alex, where'd you get to?"

"Well your boyfriend managed to help with my clean shirt problem," Alex laughs.

Kristie smiles, "Yeah, Shane can be an ass sometimes. Sorry."

"Yeah," Alex agrees.

After a pause he says, "He's not behind me, is he?"

Kristie laughs, "No, his old best friend from Vancouver came back to town for New Year's. Shane will be preoccupied with him for a couple hours."

Alex asks, "And you just stand out here alone?"

"Well, I'm not alone anymore," Kristie grins, moving closer to Alex.

Alex fumbles out, "So, uh who's this guy from Vancouver?"

Kristie shrugs, "Just one of Shane's old football buddies -- Darren Temple."

Alex is taking a sip of beer, and chokes when he hears the name. He spits, "Who?!"

Kristie senses the weirdness, "Darren Temple or something. Why? Do you know him?"

Alex says, "Not exactly."

Alex leans against the rail, and Kristie gets a closer look at his shirt.

"That looks awful," she says. "Come on, let's see if Remmie has one your size."

INT. WALLACE RESIDENCE - MASTER BEDROOM - LATER

Alex is sitting on the bed, and Kristie looks through a closet.

"So tell me, Alex Callen," she begins. "What is it that you do?"

"What?" Alex questions.

Kristie laughs, "You know what I mean. What is this program you are always talking about?"

"You know about the program?" Alex manages to utter.

Kristie hands him a new shirt, "Come on, Alex. Just because you never talk to me, doesn't mean I don't know a little bit about you."

"Okay," Alex begins. "It's called Mojo Self Defense. It's computer software for kids. In the videos I cover physiology, biology, physics, force transference."

Kristie is actually paying attention, and Alex gains some confidence. He continues, "Mostly though, it's just scenarios that teach them how to think on their feet. How to react to unexpected situations. Stick together in groups, and stuff like that."

Alex notices Kristie is staring at him. He asks her, "What? Do I have something on my face?"

Kristie says, "No, nothing. You going to change your shirt sometime tonight?"

Alex goes red in the face, slightly embarrassed. He says, "I though you would, uh..."

Kristie lifts an eyebrow, and turns around. Alex takes off his white shirt stained in fruit punch.

Kristie asks, "You teach little kids karate?"

Alex unbuttons the new shirt, and replies, "Not exactly. I mean, I teach them how to defend themselves."

Kristie spins around, and says, "So, show me some moves."
