Here Comes The Sun

Royal edition for L.C. Schafer’s spring challenge

Louis XIV, The Sun King

"Here comes The Sun!" the King's servant announced to the court gathered in the Versailles' huge ballroom and opened the double door.

The King emerged in all his glory, lavishly dressed in royal garments and his best wig, and made up for the worshipful day. Right behind him, trailed another servant carrying the king's night pot.

"The Sun King had the most magnificent, healthiest bowel movement!" the servant announced and started walking around the court, forcing everyone to look at and smell the pot's contents.

The Sun King himself stopped in the middle of the room, keenly observing his court members. Those who as much as raised their eyebrow or wrinkled their nose in disgust would have to suffer severe consequences.

The court ohhhed and ahhhed in admiration, praising the king's health and stamina.

Finally, a little boy of about 4-5, the only child in the entire audience, peeked in and said, "It's just shit!"

Everyone froze. Even though the boy was Louis, the Sun King's son, they were still terrified of what the king might do.

Louis XIV broke into a smile. "Of course it is, son," he said, laughing. "But it is still the most magnificent and healthiest shit anyone ever has known!"

Everyone laughed, ohhhed, and ahhhed again.

Author's note: I just couldn't resist the most obvious interpretation of the challenge quote. Here's L.C. Schäfer's challenge:
