Her Beginning
The Not-So-Ordinary Civilian
“Penny” I gasped as Ironfist hurled my car at some man-scorpion—likely the latest villain.
My heart sank at the deafening crash of Penny shattering to pieces atop the Scorpion Man.
Infuriated, I turned to the supposed hero. “You have super strength, and you choose to throw things? What are you, five?” I shouted.
Before I could say another word, Ironfist pushed me aside and tackled the battered scorpion man as he lunged.
I tried to escape, but the scorpion tail whipped toward me, striking my chest and flinging me into a wall.
I felt my bones break and every cell in my body seemed ablaze.
When I came to, Ironfist was shaking me.
I stood up with ease, wondering if I’d even been hurt, but my blood-stained clothes confirmed it.
I remembered Penny, and a mix of fury and sadness slowly welled up inside me.
Suddenly, Penny's fragments began to shift, forming a Frankenstein-like version of her before my eyes.
A triumphant, deranged laugh erupted from the Scorpion Man, who struggled to move.
“The double-X sequence,” he shouted.
I recognized the voice—it was Dr. Bolt, the genius scientist, now twisted into a madman by his own experiments.
That was the day I gained these powers—telekinesis.
Unable to rid myself of this ability, I turned to learning how to control it with the help of other Supers.
As I got to know them, I formed the Heroic Alliance, a council to mediate between heroes and the city.
I continued working in Finance Construction Management and began using my powers to aid in reconstruction throughout the city.
I occasionally throw things at villains, like a toddler.
Aside from that, I'm just an ordinary civilian who doesn’t need to lift my coffee cup to drink it.
