Heavy is the Head

The overall wrestling world was still buzzing over the events that took place at Queens of Havoc's 30th anniversary event. The roster truly delivered; stellar matches, big title victories, but the main story involved the promotion's newest threat: a sinister faction known as the Royal Flush Renegades.

The Renegades invaded Queens of Havoc three months prior, and the group consisted of Deanna Rose, nicknamed "Perfect 10," a submission specialist who relishes the opportunity to make her opponents tap out. Jacqueline "Blackjack" Hawkins and Sonya King, who had teaming together for two years, also banded with this faction, but their in-ring leader was Regina Barnes, nicknamed the "Deadly Ace." While Regina was the in-ring leader, they did have a mysterious mastermind behind the scenes--a masked figure only known as "The Dark Queen," who gave her orders usually on a video screen in a secluded area.

The Renegades dominated the event. "Blackjack" and Sonya were captured QOH's Tag Team Championship in a ladder match that they were last second entrants in. Deanna went on to defeat Darla Sampson to win QOH's International Championship, with Deanna's contendership being earned when she was the last entrant in a Gauntlet Match. One of the event's two main event matches was a #1 Contender's Four Way Match, with Regina being one of the combatants, fighting against Hannah Young, the "Boston Brawler" Grace Poole, and Teresa Shane. Hannah was the sentimental favorite to win, but the "Perfect 10," "Blackjack," and Sonya King took advantage of the match's No Disqualification rules and got involved, with the last straw being a triple team on Hannah, allowing Regina to pick up the victory--becoming the #1 Contender for Queens of Havoc's World Championship.

All of this took place one day prior, and fans were awaiting the aftermath. They wouldn't have to wait too long, as QOH's first show following the event took place, and it kicked off with the promotion's General Manager, Celeste Fox, making her presence felt. Celeste competed during QOH's early years, and became their General Manager four years ago, having long earned the respect of women's wrestling fans. As Celeste stood in the ring, microphone in hand, she drank in the fans' reactions before finally speaking.

"In 30 years of Queens of Havoc," said Celeste, "I've never seen anything as intense as what we witnessed last night. Our 30th anniversary event will forever be one of the greatest shows in this promotion's history, but I promise you, more memories will come, starting with tonight." The crowd cheered loudly over Celeste's proclamation, but the General Manager was not done.

"We do have a new #1 Contender in Regina Barnes," said Celeste, "And normally, it would be a four week build for Regina's title opportunity, but I was approached by our reigning World Champion, Melissa Pierce, who demanded to face Regina. So with that, Melissa Pierce will face off against the "Deadly Ace" Regina Barnes for the Queens of Havoc World Championship in the main event!"

The crowd erupted over the announcement and eagerly awaited the huge main event. Two hours later, the bout took place, first with Regina making her entrance, donning a black outfit with a single spade logo. Next up, was Melissa, title and all, in blue and gold gear, and once she entered, she wasted no time scrapping with Regina. Champion and challenger went at it, and the fight told the story; Melissa, having been champion for five months, looking to continue her reign at the top. As for Regina, she was looking to cement the Renegades' dominance over QOH, with her stablemates having just won titles of their own.

A 15-minute battle hit a snag, when in response to Melissa's attempt at her finisher, Deep Trouble (a modified facebuster), Regina shoved Melissa into the referee. With no referee, the door was opened for Regina's fellow Renegades to get involved. Deanna, Jacqueline, and Sonya all entered and went after Melissa, all under Regina's direction. However, Hannah Young, the "Boston Brawler" Grace Poole, and Teresa Shane, coming of competing in the four way match on the previous night, appeared and fought off the cohorts, and it was during the fight that Celeste made her appearance and sent them to the back.

Celeste sat at ringside and observed as the main event commenced, with the referee's composure back and making a two count on Regina's pin attempt. The fight marched on, and finally, Melissa delivered Deep Trouble to Regina. It was over! One... two...

But no three.

In an absolute shocker, Celeste suddenly pulled the referee out of the ring, which drew Melissa's shock and ire. But the GM wasn't done. With the championship belt in her hand, Celeste clocked Melissa right on her head, and afterwards, she opened her trenchcoat, revealing a black bodysuit with a crown logo--the same crown logo that appears on The Dark Queen's promos.

"Finish her, Ace," hissed Celeste. "Make your Queen proud."

Regina picked up the incapacitated Melissa, and delivered her finisher, Ace in the Hole, which is a modified spinebuster. All the while, Celeste tossed the referee back in the ring and gave the order to make the count. The three-count is made, and Regina Barnes, thanks to her cohorts, and the revealed Dark Queen, the General Manager, Celeste Fox, who later grabbed a microphone and smirked as all of the Renegades were suddenly in the ring, and were hit with boos.

"Behold, peasants!" Celeste barked. "Behold a year's of plotting, a year's worth of planning, and a year's worth of fooling every single one of you into thinking that I would just sit back and be a figurehead! I'm not just a legend, I'm this promotion's biggest legend! And it's time you were reminded of that fact!"

Celeste then presented each of her protégés, her champions, to the crowd in attendance.

"Look at your champions!" shouted Celeste. "My Perfect 10, Deanna Rose, the International Champion. Your Tag Team Champions, "Blackjack" Hawkins and Sonya King, and most of all, your new World Champion, my Deadly Ace, Regina Barnes." With each introduction, the champions held up their titles, all while Celeste embraced the heat she and her Renegades were receiving. This was followed by Celeste delivering her last parting shot:

"I am Celeste Fox, your legend, your General Manager, and your Queen. We are the Royal Flush Renegades, and we rule Queens of Havoc. And those who even think of opposing us, will all fall, one by one."

The fans reaction to the Renegades' success, as well as Celeste's heel turn, was met with a vary of emotions. A number of fans rallied hard for Melissa and any other babyfaces who could take down the Renegades. However, the villainous faction did have their fans, and Celeste's unveiling as the evil Queen was met with some praise, with a few fans really loving Celeste's audacity. No matter the reactions, the fact was that the Royal Flush Renegades were draped in championship gold, and Queens of Havoc's General Manager, Celeste Fox, is pulling the strings, completing a dark and sinister takeover of the promotion.
