My lungs burned as I ran through the dense forest. The flashes of lightning and darkening clouds surrounding the area only got worse the closer I got to him.
Finally, I saw him. He was on his knees on the woodland ground, leaning over that corrupt book. It was glowing a deep blood red. Behind him was a portal, spewing out unimaginable horrors.
It was too late.
"What... have you done?!?" I screamed. His head snapped up to me, and I could see markings on his face. The smile he gave was unlike anything I'd ever seen on him.
"Enough."
