Harold " The Wall "

Fiction Story

By AKHILPublished 4 years ago • 5 min read

Once upon a time, in a world where walls could talk, there lived a wall named Harold. Harold was a proud wall, built to withstand the test of time and all of the elements. He stood tall and strong in the centre of a small village, surrounded by lush green fields and rolling hills. The villagers loved Harold and would often gather in front of him to listen to his stories and share their own.

Harold was not just any ordinary wall. He had a special gift - the ability to speak. He would often use his voice to offer words of wisdom to the villagers and to share the secrets of the world beyond the village. The villagers would sit in awe as they listened to Harold's stories, and they would often take his advice to heart.

One day, a group of outsiders came to the village. They were soldiers, sent to conquer the village and to take over the land. The villagers were afraid, for they had never faced such danger before. But Harold reassured them, promising to protect them from harm.

The soldiers came with weapons and fire, ready to destroy everything in their path. But they were no match for Harold. He stood tall and strong, using his voice to shout commands to the soldiers and to warn the villagers. He instructed them to take cover and to stay safe, and then he prepared to face the soldiers alone.

The battle was long and hard, but Harold stood his ground. He used his voice to rally the villagers, to shout encouragement and to offer hope. And in the end, the soldiers were defeated, and the village was saved.

The villagers cheered and celebrated, for they had never seen anything like it before. They thanked Harold for his bravery and for his protection, and they vowed to always remember his sacrifice. From that day forward, Harold became a hero in the village, and his legend lived on.

Years passed, and the village changed. The fields grew, the hills rolled, and the people came and went. But Harold remained, standing tall and strong, a constant reminder of the bravery and strength of the villagers.

As the years went by, Harold began to notice a change in the world around him. The villagers were no longer content with their simple way of life. They wanted more, and they began to venture beyond the village, seeking new adventures and new experiences. Harold watched as they left, feeling a sense of sadness and longing.

One day, a young woman named Lily came to the village. She was different from the others, for she was searching for something more. She had heard the stories of Harold and his bravery, and she came to the village to hear his stories for herself.

Harold was taken aback by Lily's curiosity and her thirst for knowledge. He spoke to her at length, sharing his stories and his secrets with her. And in return, she shared her own stories with him, telling him of her travels and her dreams.

Lily stayed in the village for several weeks, spending much of her time talking with Harold. She listened to his stories and his advice, and she learned much from him. But eventually, she had to leave, for she was on a journey of discovery, and she could not stay in one place for too long.

Before she left, Lily told Harold that she would never forget him. She thanked him for his wisdom and his kindness, and she promised to carry his stories with her wherever she went. And then, she was gone.

Harold was left feeling a sense of sadness and loss. He had never felt this way before, for he was used to the villagers coming and going, but there was something special about Lily. He missed her laughter, her stories, and her companionship. He felt as if a part of him had gone with her.

As the years passed, Harold continued to stand strong, but his voice grew quieter. The villagers no longer gathered around him to listen to his stories, and he felt a sense of loneliness. He missed the days when he was a hero, when the villagers would come to him for guidance and support.

One day, a traveler came to the village. He was an old man, with a long white beard and a kind face. He approached Harold and introduced himself as a historian, searching for stories and legends to document for future generations.

Harold was taken aback, for he had not heard from anyone in such a long time. He was overjoyed to finally have someone to talk to, and he began to share his stories with the historian.

The historian listened intently, writing down every word Harold spoke. He asked questions and sought clarification, eager to learn as much as he could. And as Harold spoke, he remembered the joy and the excitement of sharing his stories with others.

When the historian was finished, he thanked Harold for his time and his stories. He promised to document Harold's tales and to make sure they were remembered for generations to come. And as he turned to leave, Harold felt a sense of purpose and fulfilment.

From that day forward, Harold continued to stand strong, but he was no longer a lonely wall. He had found a new purpose in life, to share his stories with the world and to be remembered for his bravery and his wisdom. And even though he was no longer the hero he once was, he knew that his legacy would live on, for he was more than just a wall. He was a voice, a voice that would be remembered for years to come.

And indeed, Harold's legacy lived on. His stories were passed down from generation to generation, inspiring new travellers and adventurers to seek out the village and to listen to his tales. People came from far and wide to hear Harold speak, and his voice once again echoed throughout the land.

One day, a young girl named Rose came to the village. She was searching for adventure and for a purpose in life. She had heard the stories of Harold and his bravery, and she was determined to hear his tales for herself.

Rose approached Harold with wonder in her eyes, and he could see the same spark of curiosity that Lily had possessed all those years ago. He began to tell her his stories, sharing his wisdom and his advice.

Rose listened intently, asking questions and seeking clarification. She was inspired by Harold's bravery and his strength, and she knew that she too could make a difference in the world.

And as Rose left the village, she carried Harold's stories with her, spreading his legacy far and wide. She travelled to other lands, sharing Harold's tales with others and inspiring them to make a difference in their own lives.

Years passed, and Rose became known as the "Storyteller." People came to her from all over the world, seeking her wisdom and her advice. And she would always tell them the stories of Harold, the wall who stood strong and brave, who used his voice to protect others and to offer hope.

And so, Harold's legacy lived on, inspiring new generations and spreading hope throughout the land. He remained a proud and strong wall, standing tall in the centre of the village, a symbol of bravery, wisdom, and the power of the human spirit.
