Guan Zhong, the nephew of Guan Zhifu, was one of the most talented men of his time. He had a good friend named Bao Shuya. The two of them did business together and fought in wars. Bao Shu Ya had more capital and Guan Zhong had less. When they made money, the one with less capital took more. Bao Shu Ya's men were not convinced and said that Guan Zhong was "skimming". Bao Shuya defended him and said, "No, his family is in difficulty, lack of money than me, waiting to make, I am happy to share more to him." This distribution of money between friends, in our country there is an idiom called "Guan Bao share gold" is how to come. When it comes to war, people have to laugh at it. Once the army, Guan Zhong always hid behind, retreating from the army, he ran in front. People see all laughed, and said he was greedy for life and death. Bao Shuya argued with him, saying: "Can he be greedy and afraid of death? To be frank, there are few people who are as courageous as he is. The reason is that his mother is old and sick, so he can't keep himself to feed her. Do you think he is really afraid to fight?" When Guan Zhong heard these words, he said, "Alas! I was born to my parents; the only one who knows me is Bao Shu Ya!"

When Qi Xiangzhi was a despotic and tyrannical ruler, his two brothers ran away to their grandmother's house for fear of being harmed. One was named Duke Zheng, a nephew of the state of Lu; the other was named Duke Xiaobai, a nephew of the state of Ju. The master of Duke Zheng was Guan Zhong, and the master of Duke Xiaobai was Bao Shu Ya. These two good friends each helped a gongzi and defected to the grandmother's house. At the time when Lian said and Guan to father got Duke Xiang of Qi killed, Duke Xiaobai and Bao Shuya were in the state of Ju, and Guan Zhong and Duke corrected in the state of Lu. When Gongsun Wu Zhi sent someone to Lu to summon Guan Zhong, Guan Zhong thought, "If they can't even save themselves, do they want to involve others?" He simply refused. Within a month, he heard that Gongsun Wuzhi, Lian Weigao, and Guan Zhifu had all been killed by the ministers of Qi. After a few days, an envoy from Qi came and said that the ministers had sent him to take Duke Zheng to the throne. Duke Lu Zhuang personally sent his troops and asked Cao Mo to be the general to escort Duke Jie and Guan Zhong back to Qi. Guan Zhong told Duke Lu, "Duke Xiaobai is in the state of Ju, which is not far from Qi. It will be troublesome in case he goes in first. Please let me lead a team of men to intercept him first." Duke Lu Zhuang complied with him.Guan Zhong hurried forward with dozens of troop carts. When he arrived at Jimo, he heard that the soldiers of Ju had passed before eating a meal. He chased after them with all his might. He ran for 30 to 50 miles and caught up with them. The two masters and the two countries' military chariots met. When Guan Zhong saw Xiao Bai sitting in the car, he ran over to him and said, "Where is your son going?" Xiao Bai said, "I am going back to my country to do the funeral." Guan Zhong said, "Don't go because you have your brother so that people won't gossip about you." Although Bao Shu Ya was a good friend of Guan Zhong, he opened his eyes wide to protect his master and said, "Guan Zhong, each man has his own business, what do you care?
