A shadowy figure paced back-and-forth between the white willows in the north corner of the public gardens.

The wooden swan boats creaked and moaned against the gentle ripples cascading from the family of bathing ducklings.

A pair of small white dogs barked at a couple of fighting squirrels beneath a looming red maple while their owner yelled profane remarks through a rose gold cell phone.

A homeless man stirred beneath a thick navy green sleeping bag, trying to keep his shivering body warm from the chilling temperature.

A pickup truck annoyingly honked its high-pitched horn at a fellow aggressive driver on Newbury street, who stole the last available parking spot, while the scruffy driver of the pickup flicked a lit cigarette onto the thief’s windshield.

Just another evening stroll through the city.
