Forbidden

"You're so beautiful, Alexandra" Sienna sang softly as she'd cradled her three-month-old baby. Until this day, she still couldn't believe she gave life to such a precious baby. "Isn't she Mathew?" She'd hoped that her long-term boyfriend would finally show some sort of interest towards their innocent child. But instead, he stayed quiet."Matt?…” Sienna again called for him as she eloquently swayed herself from side to side with her daughter who slowly fell to sleep in her delicate arms.

"What Sienna?!" His sudden yell thundered across the living room, startling both Sienna and the baby at once.

"What is up with you? You've been quiet and snappy lately" Sienna shushed the baby's loud cries in between her words.

He viciously tossed back the few remains of alcohol from a bottle in one gulp before inhaling and exhaling deeply. Sienna still couldn't see why he had a sudden change in his behaviour. "I know..."

"Know what?" Sienna furrowed her eyebrows.

"That...thing is not my daughter" He finally spoke, his voice so filled with regret.

At this point, Sienna's eyes watered. "She's you're daughter, our daughter Matt. How could you say that?" She's struggled to get her words out through her cries.

"She's not mine, do you not see?!" Matt shouted as he threw his empty glass bottle of alcohol right into a wall, the loud shatters only made the baby cry even more. He stood there, analysing the mess he'd caused for a moment before turning back to Sienna. "Just look into her eyes" He commanded as he slowly strolled towards the little family he now seems to despise.

Sienna glanced down, into her daughter's eyes for a split second then back to Matt. "I don't see anything" Sienna's voice started to tremble, fearing what she's about to unravel as the baby continued crying. Deep down, she knew that this day would come.

"Look again..."

Reluctantly, Sienna looked into the little girl's eyes once more, then saw something that instantly shocked her. The ocean blue within her daughter's watery eyes morphed into a bright gold as she wriggled in her mother's arms, seeming bewildered by her surroundings. Sienna froze in her position as her widened eyes continued to stare right into those sparkling orbs. Within that moment, She knew what the child had already become.

"She...she's a werewolf" She swallowed a sudden lump that appeared in her throat.

"And that little werewolf is going to cause a lot of problems around a place where vampires hunt them down" Mathew scoffed as he strutted around the living room. "Who was the werewolf lover you'd slept with?...Sienna Valentina?" He viciously turned, standing right in front of the woman he'd fought to be with for the rest of his life with only a harsh scowl on his face.

"Because, I clearly don't have no trace of werewolf blood running through my veins" He said, slightly suppressing the anger building up inside him.

Sienna had managed to blink a few times as her mind came to terms with what she'd witnessed just moments ago.

"Tell me now!" He yelled in her face, snapping Sienna right out of her mind.

"He's dead...alright!" Matt froze, staring into Sienna's eyes as she continued. "But it's different with you Matt-" He scoffed and rolled his eyes at her remark.

"We have to kill her..." Those words that had left Mathew's lips were the words she'd never expected of him. The man she thought she could live a happy life with chose to sacrifice a three-month-old baby girl who's not even experienced her first birthday yet.

"No, we're not killing her Mathew, she's innocent" Sienna yelled, tightening the grip around her baby as she defended for her sake, motherly instincts kicking in. "I thought you knew better than to follow these extreme vampire laws. I thought you were the kind of man who will do whatever it takes to keep this family together. Today, you'd just proved to me how much of a monster you really are and to think that I will agree to sacrifice this baby is just...sick" Sienna spat the last word out in his face, causing him to dramatically wipe it off.

Sienna couldn't contain her tears anymore, they were already streaming down her face. Her heart breaks a little more inside once she'd realised the Mathew she knew before is gone for good.

"We have to or we'll all get killed" Mathew's hand gently caressed Sienna's cheek, wiping the stained tears he'd caused away as his eyes stared into hers. "If she's gone life will be just the way it was...for us" He spoke sympathetically as his arms slowly reached for the child to be taken from her grip.

Sienna couldn't let that happen.

“No!!” Sienna ran out of the house in a matter of seconds with her wolf child securely wrapped under her arms.

As much as she'd loved her baby, Alexandra, no matter what, she knew that she had to let her stay and grow up somewhere that is safe and vampire proof. That was the only way for her child to escape potential death. Though her mother is a vampire, Alex will always be her own flesh and blood, even if the power she now obtains is completely different.

Vampires live up to the law of killing a werewolf when they see one and it is forbidden to form some sort of relationship with any of them. Sienna broke that law many years ago. She fell in love with an Alpha wolf named Stephan Calogero, the strongest leader of his wolf pack. As they were both very aware of the laws, they'd made sure that their relationship with one another was kept strictly private. As time flew by their love for one another blossomed until Stephan was tragically killed by a group of vampires. All the vampires in her home town celebrated the death of the Alpha every year since his death whilst she'd spent it mourning for him.

Now, Sienna realises what the Alpha had left for her. A child with the potential of carrying on his own honour and Legacy.
