I don’t know why she did it, but she said it was time.
I started to ask time for what, but I was thrown over the edge by her wind torrent.
There I was… wind lashing at my cheeks, the roar of it filling my ears as I plummeted.
A voice, clear in my mind, demanded; fly.
Cautiously, unclenching the muscles in my back, I let the wind that was rushing up catch in my brilliantly scaled wings. Instantly, they caught the air and lifted me skyward.
I couldn’t help but wonder, why hadn’t I done this sooner?
