Fledgling prince
The first installment of young adventurer travels the world to prepare himself, for his new duties as "King"
Small rays of sunlight pierced through the treetops, illuminating the leafy forest floor. The sounds of birds and insects, created an orchestra of nature that felt like music to the elves ears. A small grin across his face, as he felt the leaves and twigs crumble beneath his bare feet. His brown hair an unruly mess, hanging down by his collar. The wind blew across the tree's causing the branches and leaves to dance and sway; Upon seeing this, the grin grew into a fit of laughter as he decided to join in.
"It is a fine day for this pleasant performance" His voice standing out from the sounds of nature, his lips still curled into a smile as he continued to spin and listen to the creatures all around him. A small tree root jutting out from one of the trees catches his foot causing him to tumbled backwards, rolling into another tree. As his body thuds against the hard bark, causing a loud 'thud'.
"Ah! You've gotten me!" he scoffed jokingly, through a small chuckle. He reaches across his chest and grasps the front of his shirt.
"You've slain the great Xiiba Siannodel, druidic prince of The Pride" he yelled dramatically feigning death. He drooped his body over a tree root and laid in silence for a minute or two before standing up and brushing the dirt off his trousers. Not that it helped much, he had been on the road for months.
He took a deep breath before his face that had been filled with joy moments before, sank sullenly.
"Yeah, sure." He sighed
"Some prince I am. I don't even know where I'm supposed to be going" His thoughts drifting back to the day he was told about his journey. His mother sitting him down, and explaining to him the task he would undertake. Traveling the word, seeking out the four legendary beasts. The Leviathan in the waters of the Ocean, The Phoenix hidden away in a volcano, The Tempest Serpent gliding above the clouds of the tallest mountain, and The Great Turtle last known to be resting somewhere inside the earth. These beasts were said to hold the secrets of the elements that the leader of elvish tribes needed to understand.
Xiiba raised his hands, and smacked both sides of his face.
"That's enough feeling sorry for myself. Time to go" His voice grew stern as he spoke to himself. It only took a few more minutes of walking before a new smile grew across his face.
"If it's a nice day to play, its a nice day to fly!" He stopped, and closed his eyes. Focusing his mind, he felt the familiar tingling sensation at his fingertips as he began to focus on the natural energy around him. Small trails of green magical energy began to dance around his form. Xiiba's skin began to feel prickly as rows and rows of feathers began to sprout. His form began to shrink, his arms turning into wings as the magic continued to swirl, continuing his transformation.
"Perfect" he thought to himself as he hopped over to a small puddle to check out his new look. As he peered over the waters edge, only to be met with the face of a snowy white owl, instead of his usual brown skinned elvish face.
"Time to pick up the pace."
He raised his wings before leaping into the air, flapping his wings to carry himself upwards above the treeline. Upon breaking though the treeline, he was met with a bright clear blue sky, the sun high above. As Xiiba scanned the area, taking in the environment around the forest he was in. He saw a large mountain range to the north, the blue of the ocean to the west, and to the east he could see the beginning signs of civilization.
"Ugh! Cities, they feel so cramped" He complained to himself, adjusting his wings slightly. He locked his eyes onto the massive craggy mountain range deep in the distance.
"If there is anywhere to start, its there."
