They gather slowly on a day of gloom, excitedly awaiting the festivities about to begin. It will take all of them to put on the show.

The gloom helps them in dropping the temperatures; their artwork only appears in freezing conditions.

Finally, there's enough - time to start the show! Each water droplet is carefully, expertly crafted and formed into an individualistically-detailed flake, perfectly symmetrical.

And then, they let them fall. Some even hold onto their flakes as they descend, spinning and weaving in spectacular aerial dances.

They continue this as often as circumstances allow their creations through winter.
