“If gods have low self-esteem, that’s blasphemy — because they don’t believe in themselves!”
Nothing.
God always told that joke and people laughed.
Perhaps this therapist didn’t get it.
“Self-deprecating humor is often a defense mechanism; why don’t you believe in yourself?” says the therapist.
“It was just a joke,” retorts God. “And it’s not that I don’t believe in myself — it’s that they, you, humans, don’t believe in the real me.”
“Hmmm.” She writes in her notepad and looks closer at God. “What are we misinterpreting about you?”
“Everything,” God groans. “Everything.”
