Philip knelt, clutching the blue velvet box in his left hand. The silver ring, adorned with a sparkling five-carat diamond, gleamed in the afternoon sun. Swallowing hard, he fought back tears, his voice choked with emotion. “Raya, my love, you’ve been my everything for seven years. I wish I’d mustered the courage sooner, but fear held me back. Now, it’s too late.”
With a heavy heart, he closed the box and gently laid it beside a tombstone. Planting a tender kiss on the warm granite, he retreated in melancholic silence.
