Episode #23 Let's go and Meet Alice's Mom a Possible Ghost

You follow Alice as she skips happily down a footpath heading directly towards an old eerie hospital. Only a minute goes by when you see a woman coming right for you asking, “Have you seen my daughter, I know she is looking for me, but I can’t find her. Can you help me?”

“Is her name Alice, by any chance?”

Alice turns back to you, “Yes, that’s right. That’s my name. It’s my Mom’s name too. I was named after her. I was named after my Dad too. Jean, that’s what his name was and that’s my middle name.”

“Wow, really, can’t you two see each other?” In a blink of an eye the woman is gone. Alice doesn’t seem to have heard a word you just said, instead she continues. “Come, follow me up these stairs.” Floating all the way to the roof without a thought or hiccup of what she had done.

Your hands begin sweating once you touch the handrails. Fear inches its way through your blood as you close in on the roof. Finding Alice already climbing through a window just big enough for her to squeak through. Following along, not sure where you might end up, surprise!

It looks as though you have found an old run-down sitting room area. With many old wooden chairs scattered about the place. Cobwebs encase each chair, preserving them, some broken, all with peeling paint. There goes Alice out another window; again, you follow unsure of what to expect next.

Finding yourself now on the peak of a roof; Alice ahead walking it like a tight rope, reaching yet another small window. She stops, looks back at you, smiling. “It’s okay, you can do it. I do it all the time!” Explains Alice as she waits while you gather enough nerve to follow.

Placing your right foot out, then your left, your body quivers as you let go of the window ledge. Reassuring yourself out loud, “I can do this!”

There you are, balancing on a roof peak, one wrong step and down you go! Forget it, you start running like hell for that next window, with hope of achieving your goal. Once safely on the next window ledge looking back, you realize Alice had taken you across the highest peak of the hospital! Through the window is found Alice in a room no larger than a oversized closet, running for a small door leading to who knows where now!

Curious on what lies beyond the door, slowly squeezing through the window waiting and watching Alice walked right through the door! Now at the same door turning the doorknob slowly, finding a very thin hallway treading into a foyer containing a set of double hospital doors. Alice runs right through them too! Yelling, “Mom, Mom! I brought a friend for you to meet this time.”

With hands tightly cupped around the edge of your face you push up against the window. When peeking through a window on door, you do not find Alice, rather you find a completely empty room, an old nurses desk still attached to the floor.

An animal has made a home within a shelf. Mice scatter across the floor as you make your way to see her mom, being met with excitement bubbling inside, you can hardly wait. Becoming so over whelming, you swing the next set of double doors wide open! There you find Alice right in the center of a room full of old mouse infested mattresses and box springs, talking to her Mom.

Mom this is my friend I was telling you about.” Her smile beaming so wide it lights up the dark room as she point towards you. Behind you is heard, “Have you seen my daughter, I know she is looking for me, but I can’t find her. Can you help me?”

This is your chance quick do it! Whipping around you yell out, “Hey over here! Mama is your daughter named Alice?” Alice interrupts your sentence “Yes, that’s my name, come meet my Mom, she wants to see you.”

Pure silence fills the air, the woman is gone! You turn back to Alice, damn she disappeared too. What the hell? There before you is nothing more then a pile of mouse infested mattresses and box springs! You decide to write this all off wondering how much of it was real?

Noticing swinging doors ahead, you push your way thru only to find yourself on the third level, on the right side of the main staircase, located in the hospital. Nobody seems to see you as you start running down the stairs. A recognizable voice comes from afar, you look back to see if just maybe Alice followed you, reading a sign attached to the doors. “DO NOT ENTER RESTRICTED AREA”. Where the hell did Alice take you? Again, you hear a voice….

There you are outside the hospital on the driveway, no clue if what may have just happened is real. Confused you look around for that voice…

“Hey where did you come from? Hello, it’s me Jordan, are you alright? How did you get here? Change your mind about the ghost?” “Wow, Jordan. I just had the most amazing adventure ever! Did you enjoy your supper?” you can hardly wait to fill her in. “What do you mean? I just got here. Are you sure you're alright?” “I’m fine. I think, lets go for supper! Walking away, shaking off your experience as something that must not have really happened. Or maybe where you ended up had no reference of time? You and Jordan make your way into the hospital.

The Mess Hall is HUGE! Seating over two hundred people, each meal served buffet style with everything imaginable. You and Jordan load up your plates with barbecued chicken and ribs, corn on the cob, baked potato, garden beans and peas. Grabbing a glass of milk, juice, and a bowl of salad each, you both sit at the table closest to the East window.

Clink, clink; sounds of the metal on glass. A woman stands asking for all to be quiet. She continues “After supper you have an opportunity to go on a Ghost tour or listen to stories on how this hospital was built and why. You and Jordan discuss where to go next.
