Chapter 1

The Photograph

Rubbing her eyes tiredly she tried pushing away the memory of the faded print. It was her motivation but that week the nightmares were worse than usual, and she just wished it was over already. What she knew is that when she finally finished the memories would never flash again because it would be like it never happened. At least that is what she liked to tell herself.

After years of practice and extensive research she was finally ready. Every little intricate piece of the puzzle was put together and she knew exactly what she had to do. The first domino that she was going to push would change the course of history. The moment her pictures would vanish from her fingertips would be the moment Sai're would know it was finished.

The first time she discovered her ability she was only ten years of age, and ever since that it had been organized chaos keeping it under wraps and not accidently telling others. If someone else knew about it they could leak the information and she could be trapped forever and never be able to utilize it for the good of others, and that was her biggest fear.

What if the others were onto her? This was the biggest job that she had yet, and she feared that if they had any idea what she was up to they would try to stop her. Shivering at the thought as goosebumps went up her back she took a draw in of her whiskey and put the thought in the file cabnit of her brain for later. Whatever happened she wouldn't give up until she tried even if it meant that she risked her own life.

A warm tingling sensation filled her stomach and within moments the room was uncontrollably shaking. Trying to fight back she realized she had too much to drink and it was making her vulnerable. So much so that before she realized it she was losing control of her power. Around her the walls started to cave and she was sorting through the memories in her mind.

Stumbling back to consciousness she snapped out of it when the sound of a train whistle broke through her thoughts. She caught herself and mumbled aloud. "Only when I am ready." She directed her her focus on her journaling and was strangely comforted by the subtle sound of her glass bottles shaking from the train on the shelves in her living room.

Chapter Two

A Phone Call

Part 1

The next morning when she woke up to the sound of someone pounding on her door. Dazed and confused she woke up still groggy from drinking the night before. The knocking got louder and she sat up quickly. Pulling the gun from underneath her pillow she got up and silently walked across her studio floor. The knocking continued until suddenly it stopped and she peered through the peephole. There was no one there in sight.

Troubled Sai're put her ear against the wall next to the door and listened. She was met by the sound of silence and a bad feeling crept over her as she stood still. The last couple of weeks she felt like someone was following and watching her, and she couldn’t imagine who could possibly be at her door.

It was a Friday morning and most everyone should be around the farmers market. Since she had moved she had only met a handful of people and none of them knew where she lived. The owners had been in town for a week and she had paid rent for the first five when she made her first payment. So she knew that it wasn’t either one of them. Her mind was racing with curiosity and fear at the name time and she walked back to her bed.

Hungover from the night before she intended to get more sleep. That thought quickly slipped her mind when the old hardwood floors beneath her creaked loudly and to her surprise her floor was kicked in. Not having much time to react in the nic of time she froze everything. Picking through all of her thoughts she focused all of her energy on to when she was falling asleep the night before.

Part Two

Sai're abruptly woke up to the sound of her phone ringing. Tired she answered only to hear static on the other end. Hesitantly she waited a moment before picking it up. *click* Whoever was on the other line hung up before she could. To her dismay there was an
