Down in a Hole
Not Losing Control
Two wiener dogs were sashaying along on their lazy Sunday evening walk when suddenly, one dropped off and into a hole. It was a large pothole and only her head was visible. She looked around, concerned but not panicked.
I looked at her in awe; she had fallen into a hole and was standing in it waiting for her next move. She wasn’t squirming or barking, she just…was.
Since the day of the great pothole incident, I have thought of her often; her calm demeanor.
Now, when stress takes me by surprise, I find my own pothole and keep calm.
