Vocal Community Microfiction Series - Horror
I met Sybille one day in her Grandmother's house.
"What a pretty doll," she said, peering inside the glass cabinet, "to be locked away in here."
I shrugged. "It's okay. But it would be nice to see the sun once in a while."
The next day little Sybille brought a key. "It's sunny today," she said. "Let's play outside together."
"Oh!" I cried. "You're such a doll!"

I don't talk to Sybille anymore, but I keep her around.
Locked away in a glass cabinet.
And I'm afraid I misplaced the key.

Stars glittered across the moonless sky. Millions of brilliant points of light, more than Yusuke had had ever seen before. He marvelled at them, despite often having gazed at the night sky before, mesmerized by them. Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller
Perhaps one of the best known modern plays in all of 20th century theatre, ‘Death of a Salesman’ is a 1949 play written by Arthur Miller. Set in Brooklyn, it takes place over two acts and portrays the tragedy of the Loman household - specifically that of protagonist Willy Loman. It deals with the crushing of the American Dream and forces the audience to confront the harsh truth about what America has become. It ended up winning the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play and as it is revived many times we in literature and drama hope it can continue its influence for years to come.
