The American muscle car Dodge Challenger is killing the world and people's hearts. The roaring output of the 6.2L V8 engine is hard to see. Since its inception, the Challenger has been improved with the same design and condition. Because of this, its main character is still maintained. Here we find the 6 best things about the Dodge Challenger.

History of Dodge Challenger

The first Dodge Challenger was introduced in 1969, for the 1970 model year. The original name "Challenger" was used in 1959 for a trim package called the "Dodge Silver Challenger", which was a two-door variant. The car belonged to the Pony car division and was positioned alongside the Mercury Cougar, Pontiac Firebird and Ford Mustang (introduced in 1964).

The 1969 or 1970 Dodge Challenger was built on the Chrysler E-Body platform with the goal of making the Dodge Challenger the most powerful pony car ever built. A big reason for that is the powerful 7.0L and 7.2L V8s, which are listed to produce 440hp and 426hp with a standard 3-speed manual transmission. The car is available in an amazing range of options with almost every engine in Chrysler's inventory.

Dodge car prices in India have received three generation updates and 13 face updates. In fact, the current generation car is the third generation which has been updated 13 times. Isn't that crazy?

1. Design

The design of the Dodge Challenger is almost identical to the first model launched. The design of the lighting is the main thing in the center of interest. The body features a wide hood, a long ORVM neck and a large air intake in the front bumper.

The front and rear lights are LED with white light. So driving on highways will no longer be a problem.

2. Interior

Inside is the corner, where most of the promotion is done by the brand. In the early days, the interior was basic and there was nothing technical and comfortable in the car. Although the development of the new generation receives new updates from within.

The dash section is sleek and the finish is minimal, the center console is slightly down on the driver's side making it easy for the driver to access. The door panel has a soft touch surface and a large opening for storage.

3. Drift Machine

The Dodge Challenger is also known as a muscle mover. Thanks to the peppy V8 engine, this gives it a lot of power, which helps it to fly and go. There are many parties and groups, who have the Challengers culture, such as their cars, and watching them move is really fun.

4. Engine and Transmission

The 2022 Dodge Challenger Hellcat is a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine.

Maximum engine power is 707 hp at 6000 rpm and peak torque is 880 Nm at 4000 rpm. Although the transmission is taken care of by an 8-speed automatic unit.

Plenty of power but it gets stuck at low revs as turbo duty starts from 4000rpm. With the combination of a V8 engine and an 8-speed AT transmission, the maximum speed of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat increases to 320 km / h.

5. Mileage

With a 6.2L, V8 under the hood, power will be an issue for some people. The gas powered engine delivers around 5.5 kmpl in the city, 9.35 kmpl on the highway and 7.05 kmpl on the combined cycle. These numbers may be increased or decreased depending on weather, road conditions and driving habits.

6. Seats

The seats in the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat are racing standard and they can hold the driver in their place without any effort. It also has a heating function to cope with cold weather. The rear seats are equipped with Isofix child seat supports and the center armrests have glass holders for better hospitality.

Competition

The Dodge Challenger competes with Ford Mustang, Audi TT, Chevrolet Camaro, and Toyota Supra.
