Different Strokes

Simone struggles with every day living because she’s been born with a ‘so called’ gift.

A burden more like it, she thinks to herself.

Simone can merge her consciousness into each of the alternate realities that she lives consecutively.

Now, wouldn’t that be fun? No, that’s when the struggle becomes real.

In one reality she’s cursed as a fake, a charlatan.

In another, she’s famous for her shrewdness and prophetic gifts, which enables her to foretell the future.

Sadly, in a third reality she’s burned alive as a witch, causing her to slowly fade from existence, as her consciousness dies.

This drabble has been written as part of the daily Drabble Drop challenge and today's random word, that must be included in the drabble, is 'foretell'.

A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful idea in a confined space.
