"My locket! My locket! Johanna, have you seen my Locket'? Mya searches the street corner where she was standing and tried to retrace her steps when she felt another shove from a stranger hurrying to get inside their home. Mya could not understand why that person even touched her. There were only roughly 6 million people left in the world. There was plenty of space to walk. Johanna her little sister was a few yards away from her searching for the locket. Mya wanted to hurry and find the locket so that she could get home and write in her diary about the day's events. Today's diary entry was going to have a lot to do with the pending excitement.

"Hey watch where you are going". Mya heard her husband yell from behind her. He was covered from head to toe with heavy sackcloth to keep his skin from burning by the moon. Yes, the moon was warm and that caused a major shift in how it was experienced. It was always shinning and never set as it did before the time loop collapsed and caused the apocalypse. The ocean flowed through the sky and the sun only showed itself 4 times in a seven-day cycle. It was always daylight and the animals that lived in plenty 20 years ago numbers dwindled.

"Dre, I have to find my mom's locket. You know it is the key to our survival".

Dre looks around and sees a man sitting on the corner. "Hey man. Have you seen a green heart-shaped locket? My girl seems to have lost it when the rally crowd came to get their food portions for the week. It's kinda important."

The man stared at Dre and shrugged his shoulders.

" I found it, Mya". Johanna shouted as she ran towards her sister. Mya grabbed the locket and Dre fasten it around her neck. Johanna and Dre formed a circle around Mya and her pregnant belly disappeared. Breathing a sigh of relief. Mya, Dre, and Johanna gave each other looks of admiration and looked to see if any other eyes saw Mya's swollen belly. The man on the corner was asleep.

In this time of unbalance, babies were being born with special abilities and parents have died trying to protect their children. Most of the children weren't even given a chance to stay with their families before a militia group would find the mother and take them away based on the report of the Impressibles.

The Impressibles came from the unbalance state in the world. When the Dominating powers found that they could see the future of unborn children via an Impressible. They captured all of them and made them work for them. Tracking down and enslaving all pregnant women. Most families fought back and paid for the rebellion with their lives.

Mya knew her baby was the one they were looking for. Her mother told her before she was taken away by the Dominating powers that her granddaughter would be the one to bless the land again. As soon as the baby is born the shift will accelerate all of humanity into an alternate universe where the patterns of life will are restored. Instantly the trees will become fruitful, the animals will return in plenty, and the Dominating powers will lose their powers.

Just as Mya, Dre, and Johanna closed the door to their house. Mya bent over in pain. " Ah, Dre help me. I think I may have been out in the moon too long without the locket on. The locket was more than a cloaking device for her belly. It was an energy restorer for her. The baby required so much of Mya's energy that her mom had to create something that would give her physical strength and hide the baby.

Dre helped Mya to the bed. A knock at the door sent eerie shocks up their spines. Johanna jumped at the sound. She went over to the window and saw three people from the Dominating powers camp.

"Oh my god they know". Someone must have seen Mya without the locket".

Mya muffled a scream as another knock on the door boomed across the room. "I think it is time Dre. what are we going to do? I know they have an Impressible with them. We have come all this way and have been protected by the locket and now, Arghhhhhh'!

Mya screamed in pain and readied herself to give birth. Dre kissed Mya and rubbed her stomach. He looked over at Johanna as she ran to Mya's side.

Dre was prepared to die for his family and the new world. He knew he could take care of the group at his door, but also knew the Dominating powers would send more swiftly. He could hear Mya in the background crying. He just hoped he would live to hear his daughter be born and restore the beauty that was lost in the world.

Eight days later Mya closed her diary with a smile remembering the day her daughter was born and how her husband saved his family so that they may live in the new world.
