A young bride, excited for her special day, arrives at the church. Inside her husband-to-be awaits.

She has arrived early to give herself time to practice the vows she has written for her soulmate and she cannot wait to hear the vows that he has written especially for her.

And now that time has come!

She stands in front of the man she loves and listens to his vows……until —

“You agree to honour my command without hesitation.”

Her eyes widen in shock. No, she does not agree and she flees the church to save making a huge mistake.

I was challenged by Jessica's Quill (Medium Writer) to write a drabble of the word 'command'.

Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :

A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Homegirl dodged a bullet! I can't imagine how her life would have been if he didn't include that in his vows. Lucky her!

Wow, a Drabble? I had never heard of it, but it is fascinating, and great job.
