“My truth is,” a man sat outside a rural general store peering into the bright sun that seemed more blinding than days past, “I did what I had to do.”

“I know she had promise,” the pondering continued even though the heat pounded onto his hat less balding head, “her sporting personality rivaled all the rest, except for that one thing she lacked.”

Standing up the self-proclaimed success story swiped his pants before moving on down the street that had been incredibly quiet for the last few years due to an invisible belief that a pandemic swept through the world creating havoc.

Grabbing a health care related item from his empty pockets where a stuffed wallet filled with large bills once resided the attractive persona hid his smile that for years made him who he was in the community. In normal times the direct marketed apparatus was used by surgical doctors, but today the individual who dedicated many years to academic studies found the security blanket fashionable. Standing underneath the only traffic beacon marking the town center a gentlemen decision had to be addressed when questions started on which way to proceed.

“Where should I go?” He asked himself as a red warning blinked in all four directions.

Carefully seeing if there was anyone from the left or right heading towards his internal moment the professional readjusted the leather strap that was attached to the fancy business bag. Once the message changed the man firmly continued his life’s journey still wondering what his reality was during these challenging times.

A lady stood by a calm lake that had not a ripple only a sharp flash striking down from the heavenly sky above, “my truth is,” she heard herself quoted watching nature perform an entertaining wilderness choreographed piece. Reaching into her running shorts pocket to pull out a protective covering featuring ‘red, white, and blue’ designed colors and understanding the simple safeguard prevented any uninvited guests that she was led to believe was swarming the globe wanting to invade her private spaces. Despite this fear the maturing feminine body remained committed to practicing exercises before performing.

Walking away from the water, shrubbery was now the opponent making her muscled legs engage and defeat the natural elements amid the late spring early summer day.

“They told me I was the best,” the promoted idea still swirled in her mind, “I was the superpower nicknamed ‘Lady Liberty’”

Branches snapped underneath the adult teenager's branded sneakers until a roadway path appeared luring the lone combatant into stepping things up from the reflective walk. After removing the facial obstacle that compromised breathing, she broke into a jog enjoying the fresh air flow while welcoming an honest energy surging through her body.

Finding a nice pace and without any cars in sight her athletic urges started to overpower any negative thoughts that challenged her daily agenda of traveling from point A to point B while saving a dime.

In only a few minutes she came to civilization and peering across the paved roadway there was a suitable man waiting underneath the single electronic device that the village budgeted to keep the peace.

“We could have traveled international in a friendly relationship,” she thought raising her hand that recently rested gently on the healthy image’s hips, “but he was way too serious in his money-making goals.”

Waiting for a respectable cordial response from the office career minded worker the youthful dreamer felt an uncomfortable feeling in her stomach until an acknowledging gesture was returned. As the signal was made to proceed, they went their independent way while each competitor continued to train knowing both lived truthful lives.
