COUGARS
THEIR NATURAL HABITAT
I love being out in nature, especially seeing wildlife in its natural habitat.
How beautiful, I think as I look at the cougar standing at the bend in the trail just ahead. It is peaceful, seems to be watching me. Then I notice the second lion moving in slow motion through the tall grass to my left.
I am being hunted. A bolt of terror flashes through me.
Next to me is a tree with low branches.
Climbable, I judge quickly. But can’t lions climb trees?
Still, it is my only chance.
I go for it.

THE BATTLE
Through the clouds of smoke, I can see pieces of the battle. The left flank is in danger of being decimated. The right flank is still strong even though they've lost a division of cavalry. If I can exploit the weakness of the enemy to the right faster than they can over run my left flank, I have a good chance of winning.

Lifting the Curtain to a Successful Month
April has been a fantastic month for me in terms of writing endeavors. I’d like to share what’s been so great about it just as many other writers would do. Share successes. I’ve noticed other writers or artists have shared successes and when you just see the snippet of their success, it appears everything has been going right for them all along. But we haven’t seen behind the curtain, we haven’t seen their hard work and their failures and those months that were fraught with disappointment. In everyone’s case, it’s far from the truth. But for the outside observer it isn’t always apparent.
