Synopsis:

9 year-old Cilia Smith was at the park with her sister, Cyan Smith, when something wonderful happened to Cilia. She was playing hide and seek with 17 year-old Cyan when suddenly she was taken to a new dimension called Sunshine Boulevard. It’s was a street where all of your wildest dreams came true. There were no bad things that happened here. There were even talking animals that had appeared to be secret agents, the birds were flying books, the trees were made of money, the houses made of rock candy… basically everything was just alright.

Until…

The Big Bad Moon pulled up out of nowhere, taking the sunshine away, causing the whole town to turn dark and depressed. Nobody was happy anymore, the books weren’t even flying—they grew too exhausted, just like everything else around. The secret agents retired because they had no job, and as for the rock candy—well, let’s just say that after a stage of depression, what’s the point of candy anymore? And the worst part was, Celia could not escape the darkness; she couldn’t go home, so was this her life? Was Cilia to live in the darkness for eternity? Or was there hope for the sunshine? Keep reading and find out…

My Only Sunshine…

“Ninety-seven… ninety-eight… ninety-nine… one hundred! Ready or not, here I come!”

Cilia looked behind the bush, Cyan was not there. Cilia looked inside the slide tunnel, Cyan wasn’t there either. Finally, Cilia looked behind a tan truck and there she found Cyan.

“Aww, man. I guess it’s my turn! One… two… three…”

As Cyan was counting, Cilia hid inside a barrel.

“She’ll never find me here.”

Then suddenly, she wakes up in a new place. This place was delightful, way better than home. Celia decided she liked it and didn’t miss her family or friends at all.

Cilia got to eat cotton candy made out of horses, drink soda from the water tap. In fact, there was no water to be found. It was a beautiful world, until…

A giant bag of potato chips ate Cilia; crunched her up like us humans crunch them up. But, a Wise Worm with glasses gives the bag the Heimlich and the bag spits Cilia out.

“What was that?” Cilia asks Wise Worm.

“It was a curse. The Curse of Canterbury Cod.”

“Canterbury Cod? Is that what this place is called?” Cilia asked.

“This place is Sunshine Boulevard; our world is Canterbury Cod.” Wise Word smirked.

“I love it here!”

“Hmm, you won’t love it for long. We must get you out of here. We cannot have humans residing in Sunshine Boulevard.”

“Oh, I won’t be a handful, I promise.”

“It’s not that, dear. You see, humans have not survived here. Ever. I don’t even know how you go here.”

“Hide and seek.”

“Funny.”

“No, really.”

“Look, you seem nice… now go. There’s an exit in the bathroom.” Wise Worm pointed toward the bathroom.

“Bathroom?”

“Yeah, exit through the loo.”

“That’s silly,” Cilia chuckled.

“Through the loo.”

Celia sighed, then entered the bathroom. “Through the loo,” she told herself as she stared into an empty pit of a toilet.

Celia exited through the toilet and back into the park with her sister.

“I found you! Just kidding, I’ve been looking all over for you. Where’ve you been, sis?”

“To paradise.”

“Cool. Well, you smell like sewage! We’ll fix that once we get home. So, tell me about this paradise. Was it in the sewer? Did you play in the lake?” she laughs.

“Sis, I was eaten by a giant bag of potato chips!”

“Okay, you’re silly. Let’s get you home and clean you up. Spaghetti for dinner tonight!”

“Boy, am I hungry!”

“Me too!”
