1994 Annie Lee Painting titled Holy Ghost

The following microfiction piece that I wrote entitled "Bronzer's Fall" was inspired by the fabulous visual artist Miss Annie Lee's brill-tastic 1994 acrylic painting above titled Holy Ghost.

Bronzer's Fall by Tiffany Gordon

Y'all, the Lord is good and worthy to be praised. I have some exciting news to share with you all, but first let me get my praise on!πŸ™πŸΎ

If I look like I'm being shocked by a giant invisible taser and stomping on invisible cockroaches, please don't be alarmed; I'm just vibing with my Heavenly Father and doing the Holy Ghost Trot. πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

Please don't be shy, family! Feel free to join in, but only if the Holy Spirit truly moves you. Pastor Johns doesn't like nobody faking the funk round here, and neither do I. πŸŽ‰

I just have to raise my hands and stomp my feet in glee and gratitude to the Lord because he came through for my family in a huge way and answered my prayers through a once-in-a-lifetime miracle that I witnessed with my own eyes. πŸ’«

Please watch my purse, bible, and my fan while I worship, family. Things tend to disappear around the holidays if you catch my drift.☺️

Okay, y'all... I'm ready to share our family's monumental news with you now. Four days ago, my oldest grandchild, five-year-old Bronzer-Caleb, fell out of an 8-story apartment window and survived the fall with only a broken left shoulder. Apparently Bronzer heard the ice cream man's truck and ran to the window to see if he was nearby; while leaning against the window screen, the screen gave way and he fell to the ground below. Fortunately, a bevy of large rose bushes helped break his fall.πŸ‘πŸΎ

Lord, why did my child have to choose such off-the-wall baby names? Bronzer has twin sisters named L'Oreal and Maybelline. My daughter Syreeta has had a thing for makeup since she was 14, hence the name choices.πŸ˜†

Sorry for getting sidetracked, y'all! Bronzer has always been a busy body. His name really should have been Snoop The Nosy Explorer. I remember him peeking over the generic baby blue blanket that they swaddle the newborn boys with at the local hospital and reaching up with his plump brown fingers to try to touch the sterling silver teaspoon earrings that I was wearing on the day that he was born. He was so chubby back then that his little infant hand resembled the obese four-fingered white-gloved hand from the front of a box of Hamburger Helper. Lol πŸ˜‚

I remember thinking, "Baby boy, you just went through 20 hours of labor with your momma, and both of you almost went to heaven prematurely. Shouldn't you be resting right now instead of trying to be Christopher Columbus Jr.?" πŸ€”

Bronzer said, "Heck no, Grandma. I've got-sta to be me!" πŸ˜†

Back to Bronzer's big fall... When I found out about his fall, me and my prayer warriors went into action. His guardian angels, who must have been on high alert that day, definitely deserve a raise because our baby boy Bronzer is alive and well and back in the snooping business. He has been up all day sipping eggnog and eating Kool-Aid pie. He even felt good enough to get up a few times to shake each of his Christmas gifts to try to figure out what is in them, so he is definitely on the mend.😁
