In the ten years that she had been with Clyde, Bonnie had lost count of the number of heists they had pulled off. In the beginning, they were small and inconspicuous. It was an article of clothing here, an inexpensive piece of jewelry there. They tried to stay under the radar, just so they did not get caught. They were able to get their kicks and take home something nice for themselves or sell it off to another person for a profit. Bonnie and Clyde were not what you would call wealthy, but they got by with what they made.

About three years after they met, Clyde was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Neither one of them knew what to do with the information when the doctor told them that he would only live for about another year, and Clyde tried to murder him. Bonnie could not imagine her life without her partner in crime by her side. There was no doubt in her mind that she did not want to live this life without Clyde.

Bonnie began her search for a cure, for anything that would allow him to live a long, healthy life with her, tumor free. She stumbled upon a company that claimed to be the “Leader in Terminal Illness Cures” and decided to give them a call. The receptionist Bonnie spoke with gave her the information she desired. In order for Clyde to be cured, the doctor would inject him with a serum that was a secret recipe that was mixed with Bonnie’s own blood, because they were partners. This serum would be injected directly into his brain. Everything Bonnie heard sounded fairly reasonable and she was ready to schedule the appointment, then the receptionist informed her that it would cost two million dollars to get the injection for him.

There was only one thing that Bonnie could think of that would allow them to get enough money for his injection. They would have to pull off a huge heist, one that involves money instead of jewels or clothing. The best spot would be the Federal Reserve. The act itself would not be terribly difficult with Bonnie’s shapeshifting abilities and Clyde’s ability to mold all metals to his will. It was the amount of research that would need to be done to pull this off that would be the headache. They would need to figure out who had access to the vault at which times, as well as the home addresses for those individuals. Although, Bonnie thought that she could just shapeshift into the president. Why would anyone think to question if she really was the president?

Bonnie decided just walking into the bank as the president would be the better of the two options. Not having to do the research on the banks employees would save time as well as stress. With Clyde by her side, there is no way that this would not work. Clyde was skeptical, and he tried to talk some sense into Bonnie. Why would the president go into the Federal Reserve? He has his own access to his own funds. The bank employees will definitely know something is off and try to take them out. Bonnie reassured him that if anything would go wrong, he would be able to restrain anyone that tried to stop them with all of the metal that was in the building. At this explanation, Clyde conceded and the pair picked out the most luxurious suits they had and prepared for their trip.

Bonnie was equally excited and nervous for this job. It was the biggest and most dangerous job they had ever attempted and if they were able to pull it off, Clyde could be cured and they would live out their lives together on an island in Greece. This would work. It had to work. Failure was not option here. She would do absolutely everything in her power to make sure they pulled this off.

Bonnie shifted in the backseat just as Clyde was pulling up to the bank. As they were walking to the door, one thing Bonnie realized she didn’t think about was that the president would likely have the secret service with him. There were usually seven or eight guys, not just one. Too late now. They walked through the doors and up to think reception desk. Obviously no identification was needed, and Bonnie told the security guard that she needed to get into the vault. Being the president obviously has its perks, and this was definitely working. They were taken to the vault where Bonnie ordered the guard to wait outside. As soon as he was out of sight, Clyde filled his bag with ten million dollars. This would leave them with eight to get to Greece and buy their island.

When Clyde had finished loading the bag, Bonnie led them out of the vault, informing the guard that they were finished and thank him for his assistance. They walked back up to the main floor of the bank, ten million dollars in their bag, and no one was the wiser. It was the best heist they had ever taken on. Bonnie felt accomplished and exhilarated. She was also so relieved that now Clyde would get his injection.

That heist and Clyde’s injection were seven years ago. Since then, Clyde has become stronger than he ever was before. He was faster, his memory was so much more vivid and even his powers had grown to be triple what they were before. The heists got bigger, with higher stakes than before. Bonnie was thrilled because this meant more money for them. They did not make it to Greece as soon as they would have liked. Clyde’s recovery took a while, so he was unable to travel. About a month after Clyde’s injection, they attempted a job stealing precious jewels. Because Clyde had not completely recovered, his powers were on the fritz and instead of just unlocking and opening the vault doors, he also set off every alarm in the place. They grabbed the jewels they came for, but they had to fight their way out of the store.

After that, they realized that Clyde needed more time to recover. They also needed to lie low so they weren’t captured and taken to prison. They had been on the most wanted list for six years now, which made travel extremely difficult. Bonnie started thinking that she should just take half of the money they had and leave. At least she could change her appearance and get out of the country. Staying here, hiding in this hole in the side of a mountain was taking its toll on her. She wanted to be around people. She missed people. She missed going to the beach and going shopping. But she couldn’t leave Clyde. They had been together for so long and had done so much together. To leave him behind would break her heart as well as his. But what if she did leave? What if something happened to Clyde?
