Pitch dark. Aila stepped in to check on her son, Ethan. Hearing him snore, Aila slid for a quick peek, and a faint glow of light caught her eye.

She reflected, "Oh! Poor thing," grasped the glass jar, placed it on the window sill, and continued her night.

1 AM

Aila woke with a sudden jolt, disoriented, her drool tasting a chemical. She sprung from her bed and felt her cheeks burn over a scratch. As she brushed over the luminous glow, in a stroke, she was sucked out of her body into a distance of no time and tossed in front of a past.

Perplexed and furious, Aila stood there thinking, "When did you come out?" while a lightning current of a bluish glow stung over her, insinuating fiery power with burning veins, envisioning a black shield over her sheathed wing. She drifted and infused his body with her blazing tail, enabling the deadly joints. Not a mark left to detect, a minute later, he screamed in pain as Aila stood watching his burning scrotum. He can never commit an act of pleasure anymore, Aila signed, closing her eyes, and in a stroke, she transformed, waking from her body with a burst of light.

1 AM

Shocked and thirsty, Aila ran into the kitchen and saw the TV still on, describing the heinous rape, and all day, she only heard her friends and family personally sharing, 'cut the gonads,' repeatedly.

However," Heard about acid attacks?" Aila questioned if it would ever stop after that.

The fear she slept with sparked the hidden, villainous mind attuned by the nocturnal beetle sitting inside.

The following day, Ethan screamed, "You released the firefly, an imported blue ghost."

"Blue Ghost. I like it," she remarked, and a bluish burn blushed her cheeks.

Through my pages, I find the quiet complexities of pain dwelling in a solitary space, burdening life’s endless demands, and unburdening the voiceless noise.

Witnessing the questioning, I speak the deeper silence of my voice.
