BLEEDING HEARTS.

part 1.

By kiki bondPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Humans have only one quality in common ‘our hearts. Without the heartbeat we are nothing. Our hearts give us the reason to be alive, to desire. The same heart can be what destroys humanity in beautiful yet obsessing ways.

I can't tell you much about my heart because the first love I receive is my mother and I haven’t turned against her love, even when I don’t get to feel her warm atmosphere. She left when I was only months alive, killed never to be heard from again. Not knowing who or what kills her.

People tell me every human is given a wish a day.

People tell me every human is given a wish a day.

I wish I had friends to talk to, I wish I was popular, I wish I wish they would stop picking on me, the trio, the most popular kids in school who have no other job than to make the likes of me feel miserable. Only the popular kids call them by name – they say ‘Our names are not fit to be called by peasants’.

Hey, Isa ‘says one - it's Isabela I reply - whatever I have a party coming up this weekend and I need you to be there - the beautiful she-devil says -I stutter “m me” – yes you, don’t you want to be popular like the rest of us, you are beautiful but the clothes you wear are ugly. The bell rings for the period.

I take a quick run to class, I am quite puzzled as to why they would want someone like me in their circle, maybe they need me to clean up after them, or maybe they are trying to set me up.

I have known the trio for three years and they have never threatened me with pride. When I was in tenth grade I took my mother's necklace to school, you won't believe she told me I wasn’t fit to wear it and snatched it from my neck. According to her words, “this is only for the chosen”. The two boys Mark and Chi, I have nothing against them. Chi is quiet 95% of the time, and Mark doesn’t speak good English but according to the other girls, he is the guy of their dreams with a Spanish accent. The trio stood in the parking lot by their Ferraris, who would believe a parent would get such a car for their kid? I wave at them to signify I would like to come over, and lucky enough they reply with a peace sign. I am quite anxious to know why I am invited to your party ‘I ask’, they smile and reply “Well one of us likes you and we want to offer a peace offering to make amends for our bad deeds, how brave are they or is this just a dangerous prank?

The trio tells me to meet up with them before school the next day.

I did as they instructed, I waited for them at a stop sign two blocks away from my house. Fifteen minutes in the trio zooms in on a blue Ferrari in front of me and tells me to get in.

So where exactly are we off to and how long before we get back –I ask. Relax, it’s a surprise - they reply. That doesn’t seem like a good answer for me, I have to stay on guard.

An hour goes by, we seem to be out of town, my heart begins to pound, and my palm gets sweaty.
