In the expansive waters of Nigeria, a group of travelers revels in the scenic surroundings, with a young girl lost in contemplation by the ocean. The tranquility is abruptly shattered when Gong, the father, startles his daughter, playfully alluding to sea monsters. As it turns out, they are celebrating the girl's birthday, marked by Gong's gift of a walkie-talkie. Unimpressed, the daughter walks away in disappointment, just as the crowd cheers witnessing dolphins leaping in the water. Unbeknownst to them, the dolphins are fleeing from a colossal creature beneath the waves.

Without warning, the monster collides with the boat, sending everyone sprawling. The vessel flips, and chaos ensues as passengers are thrown into the water. Gong, desperate to save his daughter, manages to secure her but witnesses a colossal shadow in the ocean. They are plunged into the water with other survivors. Later, as Gong regains consciousness, he discovers his daughter missing, only to hear her voice on the walkie-talkie. Spotting survivors on the opposite side, the group signals frantically. Despite the relief of finding his daughter, Gong is halted by a stranger who senses impending danger.

Amidst the survivors' calls, they realize a massive serpent is advancing. Panic ensues as the creature attacks, devouring and flinging people into the air. Gong races to save his daughter, but a stranger intervenes, attempting to save Gong's life. In a heart-wrenching moment, the giant serpent devours Gong's daughter before his eyes, leaving him in anguished screams. The serpent retreats, leaving devastation and grieving survivors.

Gong, grief-stricken, hears a signal on the walkie-talkie and decides to embark on a rescue mission. Others join, including Mao, a bearded man leading the charge against the giant beast. Amid warnings of a suicidal mission and communication breakdown, chaos erupts. A man is pulled away mysteriously, signaling a grim reality – they are being hunted. Fleeing the danger, a man is caught by tentacles and meets a gruesome fate. Meanwhile, the giant serpent returns to its nest, spewing out survivors and forming a grotesque pile of bodies. It roars before departing for more prey, leaving a few lucky survivors.

The vice-captain, awakening in the midst of chaos, discovers others alive. Attempts to escape are futile, with a massive hole in the ceiling. Rescue efforts reveal a skeleton, indicating past experiments on the island's creatures. A communication device is found, and signals are sent in desperation. A stranger, the businessman, deceitfully claims all others are dead, crushing the survivors' hopes.

The next day, a helicopter approaches, but the businessman's deceit leads to despair. Gong, still hopeful, receives a signal from his daughter, renewing determination. Pursuing the businessman, they discover he lied, leading to a confrontation. The helicopter departs without noticing the survivors. The businessman escapes, while Gong, guided by his daughter's voice, joins others in the search. Snakes hatch, and Mao sacrifices himself, allowing survivors to escape.

The businessman faces a grim fate, swarmed by hatchlings. Mao and Fan lure the giant serpent away, leading to a forest chase. Flammable liquids become a crucial tool in their desperate attempt to survive. Gong, rushing to help, witnesses his daughter's tragic end. In a vengeful pursuit, Gong confronts the giant serpent, leading to a fiery showdown. The serpent falls, and Gong, against all odds, revives his daughter.

The film is an intense rollercoaster, weaving themes of survival, loss, and resilience into a gripping narrative. The characters' struggles and sacrifices resonate, creating a suspenseful and emotionally charged experience. The relentless pursuit of survival against monstrous adversaries keeps the audience on the edge, questioning the limits of human endurance in the face of existential threats.
