Bibbity, Bobbity, Boundaries
Opting Out of Eternal Youth

After careful consideration, I have declined the traditional Disney Princess career path of magically induced eternal youth, opting instead to trade in my glass heels, plunging necklines, and magic potion requirements to instead age gracefully, naturally and ride out the occasional bout of hormonal instability in the company of my dear woodland friends until I am eligible for my Fairy Godmother status. As they say, "Bibbity, Bobbity, Boundaries!".
While some of my contemporaries have chosen eternal youth, enchanted sleep, or suspiciously effective anti-aging tonics, I have opted for comfortable shoes and realistic expectations, resulting in a requirement of calling it a night before 10pm versus the stroke of midnight to keep the magic alive.
Admittedly, this transition has not been without its challenges. The birds now wake me up far earlier than necessary, and the rabbits have become remarkably jaded and opinionated. My once-majestic singing voice now occasionally cracks and frightens nearby squirrels. Surprisingly, I am finding I have more in common with the dragon than I thought.
While I remain committed to the Princess Code of Kindness, I have become noticeably less tolerant of wickedness, towers, glass footwear, poorly thought-out quests, and apples of any kind.
The Prince has also embraced the natural aging process. Curiously, his grey hair has been excitingly described as "distinguished" and he is now referred to as the "silver fox", while my grey hair has been described as "an opportunity for magical enhancement" and I am just simply overlooked at functions.
Until I achieve full Fairy Godmother certification, I will be spending my time wandering the forest, continuing to befriend small creatures, and practicing my new favorite hobby - dispensing unsolicited life advice. I wonder why nobody warned me that perimenopause would involve losing my glasses while they are still on my head?
Thank you for your continued support during this transitional phase of my enchantment journey.
And remember:
Never trust an unassuming apple, a talking mirror, or shoes made entirely of glass.
