The Ability To Find Beauty In The Simple Things

Misty, dew dropped windows, laced like curtains in the breeze

Mother nature's decor, seasons dressed, with sights to please

Colors of the rainbow, cover the ground, from weeping trees

Dappled all around, like it was made for me to see

The soothing sounds of singing birds, nestled safely in the trees

The scent of sweet magnolias or the trickling of a stream

The feeling, difficult to pinpoint, to describe it, hard, I guess

The word that comes to mind to say it all, is Aweturesque

The awe of what we see, in all their beauty, picturesque

What we are privy to receive, is about as good, as good can get

If you think you've seen it all, nature says, "baby, you ain't seen nothing yet"

And then, she sets a scene, you've never seen, and ne'er forget

The carving of the rocks, with the gentle force of water

The great and mighty shark, and the timid, playful otter

When the clouds begin to form, bringing the showers in the spring

The mighty rumble in the air, when the thunder starts to ring

Sun rays piercing through the clouds, exposing us to heaven

The savage ways of life, survival, teaching us a lesson

The grizzly strong and fierce to the fawn at her first steps

Nature pulls it all together, in an uninterrupted tete-e tete

And just when you believe that you can scarcely take it in

She blinks and just like that, she repeats it all again

This reminds me of the introduction to the nature shows that 'The Wonderful World of Disney' program back in the 70's.
