A gong show took place on Parris Island, South Carolina. This was the last night of training and the drill instructors loosened up their demands on the newly minted Marines.

Private Fred “Doggy'' Dogged stepped out and imitated Senior Drill Instructor Staff Sergeant Gander Pilkinson. The drill instructor became livid. It took the other drill instructors to hold him back from assaulting Dogged.

The other Marines also leapt towards him and a brief melee ensued. Camouflage fatigues became tatters. Bloody noses and broken hands became rampant until Captain Dustin Madish arrived.

He turned to the DIs. His face read, “No.”
