Odulore sat reading the at the book of spells with Amaranth across the table reading the tales of the Dark Underworld. He looked up at her and excitedly said, “I have it figured out. I will do a spell that will protect us and the surrounding kingdoms. This will make it to where any of the evil will have to go to a different island. They will leave Parrcaster Island alone. They won’t be happy about it, but we have to protect the island. What do you think?”

“Great idea! You better get working on it and fast. If I had to guess, I would bet that they are coming this evening. Everything in these tales tells of them moving at night,” She told him.

“I will get this spell put together, and then we’ll take Ranios and Raithy out for a flight where we chant the spell together while encircling the island.”

He picked up a pen and a blank journal. In the journal he wrote out the spell.

Incenecto Vexenus for all of Parrcaster Island above and below–to lock magic portals

Flarello Viralerous for all of Parrcaster Island above and below–to block evil spells

Proticum Banio for all of Parrcaster Island above and below–to strength the magical barrier

Immolortia Feliatis send your protection to Parrcaster Island above and below–magical guardian spirit

“Are you ready for this? We will repeat these four spells as we fly a mile out from the shore line all the way around the island. Incenecto Vexenus for all of Parrcaster Island above and below, Flarello Viralerous for all of Parrcaster Island above and below, Proticum Banio for all of Parrcaster Island above and below, Immolortia Feliatis send your protection to Parrcaster Island above and below. I have written it down, but it’s better if we can memorize it and repeat it incessantly.”

Amaranth looked at him, “I completely agree and will work with you.”

“Let’s go now. We have a few hours until sundown, so we are ahead of them.” They got up from the table and walked to the livery to get Ranios and Raithy out of their stable to fly.

They flew out of the castle, went over Zodel Kingdom, and continued out to a mile out from the shoreline. They both chanted the spell, “Incenecto Vexenus for all of Parrcaster Island above and below, Flarello Viralerous for all of Parrcaster Island above and below, Proticum Banio for all of Parrcaster Island above and below, Immolortia Feliatis send your protection to Parrcaster Island above and below,” over and over as they flew around Parrcaster Island. Odulore and Amaranth did not stop or even pause until they had completely circumvented the island. The spells were complete and protected the island. Ranios and Raithy flew them back to the castle and stopped in the courtyard. They got off them and sat by the fireplace. Casting the spells for that long took a lot of energy out of both of them. Narella and Valora came up and laid between them on the ground.

Avras appeared before them, “What happened to you two?”

Odulore opened his eyes and told him, “We just got back from casting a spell of protection around the whole island. It has exhausted us both. However, the island is protected both above and below. This will protect from those that may try to come to the island from the Dark Underworld.”

“Wow, is there anything the rest of us can do?”

“Yes, if I give you the spell, can you do the same thing we did? We need this reinforced from all the kingdoms,” he asked him.

“I will get the word to all the kingdoms, and we’ll all cast the same spells.” Avras disappeared to the other kingdoms on Parrcaster Island.

Odulore and Amaranth relaxed once again. The goblins came out from the kitchen and encircled them. Then the pixies came from the grassland and encircled them. Next came the mystical forest creatures. There was a calm the filled the courtyard.

Zizor stood in the doorway to the dining hall, “Everybody, Lunch is ready! Come on in.”

Oizu and Irreineot flew in and assisted Odulore and Amaranth to get them to the dining hall to eat and restore their energy. They sat them down in their chairs at the dining table. The goblins brought their trays and steadily their energy returned to them. Slowly they sat upright in their chairs.

“Thanks everyone. We were out and cast a spell of protection over the whole island,” Odulore told them.

Zyrsit flew in and announced, “Drozan and Zolya are headed this way with some elves. They look to be in a hurry.”

They all got up from the table and walked to the courtyard. The goblins and Zizor cleaned up the trays and joined them later. As they entered the courtyard Drozan walked in a few steps ahead of Zolya and the elves. “Hi! How can we help you?” Odulore asked him.

“We heard that you were out casting a spell to keep us safe. Do you really think the portal to the Dark Underworld is opening?”

“We were told that it was opening and that we should be expecting a bunch of visitors including Qrizor, Zaleria, and Crumazz. We went out early to get the spell cast. We are assuming that they are going out at night fall. This is what we read in the various books of tales of the Dark Underworld,” Odulore explained.

“Did you cover the entire island or just Maerith Kingdom?”

“We encircled the island and had it covered both above and below. We also told Avras about it and he volunteered to go to the other kingdoms and have them all cast the same spell so that it is well covered before night fall.”

“There is a portal that is over by Lavalbourg Gorge. Did you close all the portals?”

“Yes, we did include that in the spells.”

“Night fall is coming soon. Everyone should still be on alert. I am very confident in the spells, but I don’t know how strong Ozrig is and if we are going to need anything more. This is why the head wizards of each kingdom are casting the same spell to cover the island in multitude.”

They all got up and left the courtyard and the castle. They went to shores of the island. They kept repeating the spell–all the witches, wizards, warlocks, animals and mystic creatures of the forest. Each kingdom was lined side by side and connecting kingdom to kingdom. The spell was repeated until five minutes after night fall.
