Akari's heart pounded as she ventured into the icy wilderness, her mother's life hanging in the balance. Armed with only her wits and a wooden whistle, fashioned to mimic the Tane bird's song, she sought the mythical animal said to grant wishes. From the legend, she knew only that this creature appeared uniquely during the winter solstice, preyed on Tane birds and was utterly undetectable to the human eye. Yet, she remained undeterred, knowing this was her last hope. Her plan was daring, but she knew that the snow, her ally, would reveal the creature's presence.

After playing the enchanting birdsong on her whistle, a mystical silence fell over the wintry landscape. Then, an otherworldly purr echoed through the peaks. Pawprints slowly materialized in the snow. Brimming with determination, Akari followed them and as they quickened, so did she. But, before she knew it, the trail disappeared.

It was gone.

Realizing her failure, Akari fell on her knees as soft sobs escaped her. After a few moments, she became quiet and closed her eyes. In her sadness, she whispered her mother’s lullaby "When all seems lost, dear, have faith. It is part of the greater plan. For pure hearts, help will always be at hand”.

As she finished singing, Akari opened her eyes. The creature was nowhere to be found. However, from one of the remaining pawprints, a tiny stem timidly emerged, transforming into a single, ethereal, white flower with a glowing golden center.

She knew. Her wish was granted.
