Act In Haste, Repent In Leisure
Drabble Drop : Relieve
Rushing from the house because I’m late…….again!
Today I’m late for a date, to my detriment. I really, really like this guy.
Damn!
I jump in the car, foot on the pedal. For him, I’ll wear a speeding ticket.
Imagine my relief when I turn the corner and he’s waiting. Slamming my foot on the brakes, I propel myself from the car and slam the door, a huge grin upon my face.
Except, I didn’t remove my finger before slamming the door and now my date’s driving me to the hospital, to have my fingernail pierced to relieve the pressure.
I was challenged to write a drabble of the word 'relieve'.
Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :
A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

Omgggg, I've done that before to my finger! It hurt so bad and I just stood there screaming because my brain didn't signal me to open the door and free my finger! It was a shitshow hahahahahaha. Loved your drabble!
