The park wasn’t crowded, maybe because the clouds came rolling in with a fierce demeanor. The once vivid reflections of trees on the water became dull. With fingers locked together, we strolled along the water’s edge hoping the storm would pass over quietly. The water played with our feet. The waves quickly ran up the beach, then retreated before we could touch it with our toes. Small drops created small circles on the water’s surface. As drops grew larger and faster, we found a table to climb under. I kissed you; you kissed me. We waited out the storm together.
