Throughout her marriage, she survived a tortuous existence by protecting her children. Such ardent devotion gave her the strength to continue.

Grown now, she encouraged them to leave. Despite their reluctance, each in turn acquiesced.

Her heartfelt refrain repeated, “I’m so proud of you. It’s time to live your life and don’t look back.”

Now eligible for the Aged Pension, DVConnect ensured a safe flight from violence.

She signed a lease.

She gazes skyward.

“Freedom.”

Such a paucity of words does not reflect a dearth or insufficiency.

But the rarity of abundance.

I grew up in a DV household during a time when there was no support outside of immediate family to leave a dangerous situation. Thank you for adding your voice to the conversation ❤️

I think i found two Paulines, and may be mixing em' up. Hope it sorts itself out. Both are really great. The world is scary, but it needs to be done. Fly little birds, fly. Lovely words.
