🎶All night long I’ll sing this song, ain’t gonna dream no more no more🎶

🎶All night long I’ll sing this song…ain’t gonna dream no more🎶

I honestly don’t know why that song is stuck in my head. It’s Friday night for Pete’s sake, I should be out a party, gettin lit with some friends, but nope. I’m up all hours of the night tossing and turning. Suddenly there’s a knock on my bedroom door that turns my attention away from the tv and the music in my ear. “Hey Willie boy” my mom says in a gleeful tone as she enters my room. “Are you turning in for the night?” “Probably, ma. Me and the crew have a big day ahead of us tomorrow.”

“Well I’ll let you hit the haystack then. Goodnight honey.” “Goodnight, ma.” My mom closes my room door, leaving me to lay back on my bed and jam out to my music while watching tv. A yawn suddenly escapes me and I find myself gettin a little fatigue while laying back. I normally don’t crash this early on a Friday. I mean it technically is after 10, but that’s still kinda early for me. Let me jam out to “Cutthroats” from Da Lench Mob to get me to sleep.

🎶It’s on that you step through the big black gates🎶

🎶Too late it’s no escape from the planet of the apes🎶

🎶No doubt, it’s no way out. No daps perhaps while the homies load the straps🎶

My clawed fingers make Willie boy take a permanent nap🎶-

My eyes quickly fly open when I realize those aren’t the lyrics to the song, but then how did I just hear that? The music suddenly stops playing the lyrics and now all I can hear is the instrumental. As my eyes focus on the tv the movie I was suddenly has a character appear who was never visible during the previous times I watched it. A scarily burned man wearing a red and green sweater, a dirty brown hat and baring a clawed glove on his right hand. Oh shit, he’s looking right at mean. “How you lil in this view Will?” The man asks me in a dark and evil robe.

What is this? Or better yet, how is this? I asks myself while rising up out of my bed and walking toward the tv. As the monstrous man continues to look directly at me I break the tension with a simple question. “Who…who are you?” “Well, Will” the man started. I’m Freddy…and I’m here for you. The man quickly extends his clawed glove to me as his hand supernaturally comes out of the tv. OH SHIT!” I scream as I run out of my room and into my hallway which now looks like a dark red lit boiler room. What the heck? Where’s my mom and dad?

“Mom? Dad?” I call out to no answer, but from down the hall of this red misted boiler hallway a figure appears. It’s the burned monster I saw on tv with the red and green sweater and the dirty brown hat. Now my heart suddenly feels a chill of fright. “Hello, Willie boy.” He greets in a low menacing tone as he scrapes his razored claw along the rails that hold us both up. “I’ve been waiting for you to hit the hay…so we can play.” He laughs. “Play what? Who the hell are you?” I ask shakily. “Willie boy, you can call me Freddy.”

At this point I’ve heard enough. I sprint down the stairs to run out of the front door which is still there. When I get outside and look up to the sky looking down at me is a giant tower sized version of the creature who identified himself to me as Freddy. “WHAT THE HELL?!” I scream aloud as he takes his giant clawed glove and swings at me from high up. I duck his swing while he laughs maniacally. I make it back to front door only to find him standing there in his normal height wuth an evil smile scaring the hell out of me.

He tackles me to the ground and as I’m on my back he takes a swing at me with clawed hand again, but I quickly catch his hand before it can cut me. He’s starting to overpower me though. It’s as if he’s supernaturally strengthened. Just a mere second before he can cut my face my bedroom door bursts open and my mom is addressing me from the door as I lay on my bed. It was a dream…a nightmare. “Will are you okay? I heard you scream.” Mom asked in a worried tone. I pause before I can give a response. “Yeah I’m fine, ma. It was just a bad dream.” I reply.

“Okay, well me and your father are in the other room if you need anything.” “Thanks, ma.” As she closes the door I breathe a sigh of relief knowing it was just a bad dream. That is until I look to my right and see the dirty brown hat that the Freddy guy was wearing is now lying next to me. Maybe it wasn’t just a dream after all. As I sit up in my bed I’m now scared to go back to sleep. All I can do is sleepily sing the song I was singing to myself before I got ready for bed, hoping that it keeps me awake.

🎶All night long I’ll sing this song, ain’t gonna dream no more no more🎶
