A Little Door to Nowhere: a Microfiction
A Mike Singleton Challenge; a fantasy microfiction

"Ewan!" the girl cried.
"Come on, Sara! You ought to see this!" said the boy.
"Mother's going to kill us if she finds out!"
Ewan smiled, "If... 'sides, I won't tell her a thing if you won't."
"Ewan!"
Sara ran after her older brother as he shambled his way along the hedgerow. Once they reached the crest of the hill, Sara's anger melted into sheer amazement.
Her eyes were wide, "What is that?"
Ewan smirked, "I don't know, I found the crows staring at it yesterday."
Sara's eyes glinted with concern, "We should tell Mum..."
Ewan laughed, "And tell her what, exactly? That there's a little door to nowhere in the field? It's not even a proper door, just posts and a lintel!"
"Still, I don't like it..."
A gleam hit Ewan's eye, "What, you scared of some wood, Princess? Fine, I'll show you there's naught to worry 'bout! Probably just the neighbors having a laugh..."
Ewan stepped through the doorway. He vanished through the other side as though he was passing through a curtain of air and sun.
"Ewan!" Sara cried as she ran in after.
