A LifeStyle In The Past

Time Travel

By Mahad AhmedPublished 3 years ago • 3 min read

As I stepped into the time machine, I could feel my heart racing with excitement and a twinge of fear. I had always been fascinated by history and the idea of time travel, but now that I was actually about to do it, the reality of the situation was setting in.

I had spent months preparing for this trip, studying the time period I was about to visit, learning the language, and making sure I had everything I needed to blend in. As the machine whirred to life and the room around me faded away, I closed my eyes and braced myself for the journey.

When I opened my eyes again, I was standing in the middle of a bustling market square. The sights, sounds, and smells of the 17th century hit me all at once, and I had to take a deep breath to steady myself. I looked down at my clothes and was relieved to see that I blended in perfectly. I had chosen an outfit that was typical for the time period, and I had even dirtied it up a bit to make it look more authentic.

As I walked through the market, I marveled at the sights around me. The buildings were made of wood and stone, with thatched roofs and narrow streets. People were dressed in clothes I had only ever seen in paintings or movies, and they went about their business without giving me a second glance.

I soon realized that my plan to visit the past was more than just a dream. I was living it, and I needed to be careful not to change anything that could alter the course of history.

I spent the first few days exploring the town and getting to know the people. I visited the local tavern and struck up conversations with the patrons, trying to learn as much as I could about life in the 17th century. I quickly learned that life was hard back then, and people had to work hard just to survive.

One day, while walking through the woods, I stumbled upon a group of people who were gathering herbs and plants. They welcomed me into their group and showed me how to find and identify different types of plants. As we worked together, I felt a sense of camaraderie that I had never felt before. These people had no idea who I was or where I came from, but they welcomed me into their world without hesitation.

As the weeks turned into months, I became more and more comfortable in my new life. I had found a place in this world, and I had formed friendships that I knew would last a lifetime. But as much as I loved living in the past, I knew that I couldn't stay forever.

One night, as I lay in bed, I thought about all the people and things I would be leaving behind. I thought about the adventures I had and the things I had learned. But most of all, I thought about the person I had become.

When I woke up the next morning, I knew it was time to go. I packed my things and said goodbye to my friends, promising to never forget them. As I climbed into the time machine and set the coordinates for the present day, I felt a sense of sadness wash over me.

But as the room around me faded away, I knew that I had gained something that could never be taken away. I had lived a life that most people could only dream of, and I had learned more about myself and the world around me than I ever thought possible.

As the time machine came to a stop, I stepped out into the present day, feeling both exhilarated and relieved. I knew that I would never forget my time in the past, and I knew that it had changed me in ways that I couldn't yet fully comprehend.

As I walked out of the lab and into the bright sunlight, I felt a sense of relief that I have reached my specific timeline.
