Waking up

I stretch my body as I sit up, remembering it’s Saturday. That’s why my work alarm didn’t wake me.

The clock on my bedside table says 9 am as I stand up and put on my slippers. Should I take a shower now? Or wait until later?

My cup of coffee

I hear as my coffee pot finishes brewing.

I shuffle over in my slippers, my favorite mug in my left hand as I grab the handle and pour it in.

I sip it and sigh. Nothing hits like that first cup of coffee.

Opening my laptop

Okay, the music is playing, and the weather is providing the perfect amount of rain. It’s time for me to continue working on my story.

Doesn’t take me long to get absorbed into the draft, the sound of my keyboard taking up most of the otherwise silence, along with jazz music and the pitter-patter of rain.

Feeling the fresh air

The rain has stopped, so I decide to go on a walk. The air feels cool and damp against my face as I step onto the sidewalk, an audiobook playing through my earbuds.

Answering the front door

Yes, my friends are here. We are doing our weekly game night and hangout.

I hop off the couch and open my front door. They’re holding board games, consoles, and snacks. I smile and let them inside into the living room.

They quickly set up the games while I prepare the snacks and drinks, as they will be necessary.

Turning on a movie

My friends have all gone home, so it’s time for me to start relaxing before bed.

The lights are dim as I pick a cozy comfort movie and wrap myself in my gray throw blanket.
