The Final Moment
There is a moment of understanding between predator and prey when the inevitable finally occurs. Flesh ripping from the body and entangled in a mess of jagged unkempt teeth.
The overwhelming feeling of euphoria when you feel a slight increase in adrenaline, then nothing but pure survival. You feel an urgency to continue to fight against all odds. However hopeless as it may be.
I hope they feel it because my image will be their last view before the blackness fades in. A figment to remember.
Not human, but something of the darkest of nightmares imaginable.
It's deliciously beautiful.

A Lesson in Etiquette
My first neighbour was an older gentleman who had recently been widowed. Even though his wife was a long-time baker, he had still found the time and energy to bake me a welcoming cake. The icing was leaky, and the cake was dry, but the kind thought made my day. He really made me feel at home and part of the neighbourhood, even if he was the only one to welcome me to the apartment complex.
