A Call One Night

Story Time #12

By Adam WallacePublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I received a call one night, a trembling voice at the other end.

"She's gone. The only one I had left."

"Where?"

"Shot. She was just shopping..."

"Where are you?"

"In my garage. In my car. I was about to start the engine..."

Then all I heard was sobbing at the other end.

"It's okay. You're not alone. I'll help you. Trust me."

Within ten minutes, I joined the police at his house. All he could do was sob into my shoulder. If that's what he needed, I was there for him.
