In the city that had once homed thousands and been the most economically successful country ever was now a contaminated wasteland due to the government's use of smoke and pollution. The reek of death hangs in the air throughout the land. In the deepest corner of despair lies dystopia where hope dies, however utopia only visible on the other side of the country. Stretching away was a wall, The Wall, which separated the country. One side was the most luxury place you could find on earth, while the other side, well we don't talk about this side of the country.

The morning breeze felt like crying sorrows. Screams and cries of terror fill the ears of the last ones living. The government had enslaved young boys from the age of 14 to 18 to start rebuilding the country and The Wall. My brother is one of them; I look out of the window wondering how he is being treated right now, whether he is getting abused or things are going quite well for him. As I got dressed, tied up my hair in my mother's turquoise ribbon, staring at a photograph of my mother, remembering good and dreadful times, the only good times we had was when she was sober.

(Remembering a dreadful memory:)

A giant wave of melancholy crashed into me like a prison with no escape, why did that happen? The guilt weighed me down to my weakness, wish I could have turned back time.A memory that is filled with darkness, all I remember is my mother laying on a couch that has a showable porridge stain, while 13 year old me tried to run a family of 4 including a newborn and also trying to do well in school. After I had cooked supper for my family which was a soup full of beans and vegetables, knowing that it wasn't going to be good enough. My mother wasn't very delighted so she threw the steaming soup onto my face, rage flowed through my body like a red mess had taken over me,screaming in pain.Fear in her heart was released as panic overflowed her which caused my mother to escape the house.

A day after this occured my mother had gotten into a serious accident on the street, causing her death.I blame myself for her death.I shouldn't of gotten mad but I just couldn't take it anymore.l always knew far away in my mothers heart, that she would want me to escape this dreadful side of the country. My journey just started and I can feel it,looks like I will fulfill my mothers wish.
