Selena was good at stealing things, so she ran interference, picking wallets casually while distracting those whose eyes they needed blind. She was heat incarnate and therefore, incredibly skilled at hiding her true, usually nefarious intentions, while others drooled and fawned over her good looks and charm.
Cole was good at driving, with a knowledge of cars that rivaled anyone and everyone in the Fast and Furious franchise ... if they had been real people. So, at exactly 7:00 am EST, he was sitting outside of the back of the museum with his music on, idling, eyes trained like a hawk on the situation.
“Right on time,” Cole breathed a sigh of relief when Selena exited the back door, looking calm but excited. He could see the shine in her eye that signified a job well done.
Selena kissed him hard when she entered the car, “Drive, baby. We have an appointment in Munich at 4.” Cole nodded and tore off. Selena shuffled a rather large blue diamond necklace from out of her skirt and held it to the sunlight streaming into the car.
“Hope,” Cole muttered next to her, “Finally.”
“Yes, 45.52 carats of Hope,” Selena said darkly.
