Exhausted after his double shift he boarded the train home keen to see his wife and baby; ashamed at his daily struggle to support them.

On his phone he read the appeal for public assistance in the Police ‘Daily news roundup.’

He gasped!

The savage fatal stabbing of the owner occurred when closing his local ‘Night Owl.’

At the same time he was out for a run nearby in his usual ‘all black.’

Eight months later, he awoke terrified, an innocent man in a maximum security prison; a 17-year sentence for a deadly armed robbery he did not commit.

Innocent?

Justice is blind in the worst of ways, and with vengeance being illegal we have to wait on karma, which may not even activate in this life. Well done!

  • I despair when I hear people say "You have nothing to fear if you are innocent", this is a great and well deserved Top Story, great work

This made my stomach drop, as this awful occurrence is depicted in the most raw and despairingly honest way possible. I had to re-read to make sure I understood, but then I realized that's ultimately the same reaction we all have to this happening in real-time: shock and questioning and disbelief. Yet, it still keeps happening. Thank you for shedding light on this.
